A national leader in health insurance plans to create 125 Central Florida jobs immediately and more than 260 over the next 12 months

As Florida’s senior population continues to grow, Connecticut-based Medicare sales and marketing firm HealthPlan One, known as HPOne, will open a new call center in Lake Mary this summer, its third location in Florida. The other two are in Tampa and St. Petersburg, where the company has more than 350 workers combined. The firm also has two Arizona locations.

Over the next three months, the company plans to hire 125 positions as it ramps up the new Lake Mary center. By October 2019, plans call for more than 260 total hires with an average salary of $60,000 per year. More than half of the new jobs will be licensed health insurance agents earning a base salary of $40,000. Top producers can earn up to $100,000. In total, 17 different roles in various fields are needed. To find out more about positions in HPOne’s Central Florida’s operation locations, go to HPOne.com/careers.

The specific location in Lake Mary is under negotiation for up to 30,000 square feet. “We are building a new location from scratch, meaning we will need all of the types of positions that come with any office,” said Bill Stapleton, founder and CEO of HPOne, in a prepared statement. “Although we have just started the hiring process, we have been extremely pleased with the quality of candidates available in the Orlando market. Florida has proven to be a great location to operate facilities like this with its educated workforce and a great business environment,”

The company expanded without government incentives. “Time and again, national companies choose Seminole County as a place to grow and expand because of the quality of life we offer here, from schools to entertainment and the cost of living,” said Jason Brodeur, president and CEO of the Seminole County Regional Chamber, in a prepared statement.

Founded in 2006, HPOne is focused on the Medicare insurance market and works with many of the industry’s largest carriers including Aetna, Humana, and many Blue Cross Blue Shield companies across the country. It provides outsourced sales, marketing and contact services for national and regional health plans and manages the largest exclusive Medicare lead generation marketplace in the industry. HPOne has been named to the Deloitte Fast500 list as one of the fastest growing technology/media companies for five consecutive years.

no known call center can survive paying high wages, nor will it (it will pay what the labor market requires it to pay, period)

this is almost certainly an exaggerated claim

but more jobs is still WINNING!

I’ve worked call centers since 1986. I wonder what you are basing your statement on?

Hedge fund and M & A call center people make seven figures in many cases. This isn’t setting appointments for siding or stair lifts.

Lake Mary is the land of call centers.

Nice place though.

And where Trayvon Martin met his demise after beating George “White Hispanic” Zimmerman.

I do internal support for a company and when hired I started at around $20/hr and that was 15 years ago. I make more now and the job is easy. Phone rings and you answer and try to help them : )

In between I post at Freerepublic which improves my typing skills.....
