The colonel, most likely, would lose his mind over the recent news that KFC in Britain is experimenting with a vegetarian version of the founders famous fried chicken. You know, the top-secret Original Recipe chicken, the one with 11 herbs and spices that (reportedly) only two executives have access to at any one time.
As part of a countrywide campaign to slim down, KFC UK is heeding the new guidelines issued by Public Health England, which recommends that British adults consume only 400 calories at breakfast and 600 apiece at lunch and dinner. KFC UK told the Daily Mirror, the British tabloid, that it plans to remove 20 percent of the calories per serving which, remember, may be much smaller than your idea of a serving by 2025. Thats a year later than PHEs suggested deadline.
The menu revamp will apparently include a veggie interpretation of Col. Harland Sanderss chicken, Victoria Robertson, the head of food innovation for KFC UK and Ireland, told the Mirror. The faux-meat bird is expected to roll out later this year.
We know any new menu and recipe changes will have to be just as tasty as today, Robertson told the Mirror. Its a tricky challenge, because our fans absolutely love our Original Recipe chicken, and we wont be changing the Colonels secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices.
The KFC experiment with faux fried chicken may be an earnest attempt to shrink the British waistline, but it also aligns with meatless items recently added to menus at McDonalds and White Castle, two prime competitors in the fast-food category. Late last year, Mickey Ds introduced the soybean-based McVegan burger to restaurants in Sweden and Finland, and in April, the White Castle chain rolled out a surprisingly meaty slider featuring a plant-based patty....

The UK is moving to a 1,600 calorie diet?
Not quite North Korean levels, but certainly not England. 200 calories in a beer....
By the time they implement it it will be required to be Halal and you won’t be able to eat in the daytime during Ramadan, Muslim or not.
> the new guidelines issued by Public Health England, which recommends that British adults consume only 400 calories at breakfast and 600 apiece at lunch and dinner
Haha, that’s only 1600 Calories a day! They want to starve the general public and fill their allowable calories up with soy, so that they will be too weak and docile to fight back or even care.
Meanwhile the cops and muslims are all walking around hopped up on roids, which are sort of legal there.
A Clockwork Orange becoming real life.
Not so much in to vegan burgers but I luv the Chicken or Turkey Burgers. BK had a great Chicken Burger for a while but it was one of those temporary specials and I have been hoping it would return, but no joy.
Write to them about it. You’d be surprised how much difference one letter or e-mail can make. Few people bother to try and change a company’s products, so those that do are given outsized attention.
Funny will be the videos of employees digging bones out of the trash to ‘recoat’ them with the soy-whatever.
Why do these veggie-tarians want to eat somthing that looks like it had been living animal ??
Militant vegetarians often concoct some weird conspiracy to support their claim that humans are not natural meat eaters. They undermine their own conspiracies with these fake meat substitutes. If humans do not naturally eat meat, then why do vegetarians have to disguise vegetable matter as meat in order to eat it? If they have to make plants look and sort of taste like meat, doesn’t that suggest that eating plant material is the unnatural act?
The uniparty over there wants everyone to look as emaciated as the Duchess of Cambridge.
Where in tarnation do vegans think humans got their B12 from before vitamins came along?!
I got some coupons in my mailbox, and thought I'd give it a try... The last time I had been to a KCF was probably 10 years ago, maybe longer.
When I opened the box, the sides were amazingly small. But the worst part was the chicken. To say it was greasy doesn't even begin to cover it. The bottom of the box had a pool of grease. I put the chicken on some paper towels to try to absorb it, 3 layers thick. It immediately soaked through, and I then put down fresh towels. Eventually, when I took a bite, the it was very greasy, not juicy.
From now on, I'll be sticking with Popeyes or Churches.

Let's starve!
Also known as the McManBoobs.
Replace meat(fat and protein) with carbs to lose weight?
Deep fried carbs?
Yep, that should work.
Never could see the appeal of over priced, undersized pieces of greasy fast food chicken.
My parents tried it once and it was a real let down. The pieces of chicken were mostly breading.
Voluntary......for now.
