School Shooter

Another school shooting, another young white male in custody, seemingly non-existent red flag warnings of such violence, such horror. One CBS reporter concluded his on-the-scene-account of the Santa Fe school carnage by saying, "Still no motive." But of course, there is a motive. Why are school shooters primarily young, white, public school students, quiet, seemingly unassuming, yet loaded with so much anger that they take to the one object of their anger-their public schools-their hurt and their misery? The violence of pressure cookers, Molotov cocktails a shotgun and a .38 revolver expressed by this most recent, white male shooter.

Look into the young shooter's eyes, for they reveal the mind and the heart. His eyes cast to the right, both reveal his disgust, his silent rage, the mirroring of his set in stone lips; this young man's eyes are saying no one listens to me, no one honors me as a person, no one in this building cares about me. Additionally, review the facts that he participated in a national history competition and that he opened fire first in the art classroom. Walk back these details of a young male of proud Greek heritage, with a love of history that taught him the notion that democracy was founded by such heritage and finally feeling such denigration, such humiliation, such anger, such despondency that he turns to the one object that so angers modern America's cultural elite, the gun. Do not miss the heart shaped pin on his cap turned backward.

Our online round-table of generational observers sent me some comments which may be considered in this horror. "All of history must be rewritten in terms of the oppression of women…we must go back to ancient female religions…a document of feminism," is a quote reportedly by Gloria Steinem, former editor...

I’ll just repost what I posted yesterday —

“What if:

What if our current culture is almost universally suppressing males? And what if the younger males are now struggling to cope with a society that consistently tells them they are not as valued as their female counterparts? What if the public schools are consciously and subconsciously suppressing the male spirit?

What if there is a dearth of male role models in the home? That is, boys (children) with no father and no male role model and the strong male discipline through young life?

I’m not seeking to excuse actions, but what if society, i.e., the Left, has now so diminished the worth of males and of “masculinity” that the weaker spirited among us are the first to emotionally collapse and lash out.

This article points out that in 8 of 12 cases the shooters made videos and social media posts that, seems to me, exaggerates and distorts a sense of masculinity. As if to almost lash out in extreme rebellion saying that they are males, are in control of “something” and who, now after being invisible, must now be reckoned with through the force of their action.”

Agreed, but things are different now for boys. They certainly are from when I was a young boy and teenager.

I was bullied mercilessly, and was about as inept and rejected in my advances as I could possibly be, and I never wanted to shoot anyone either.

The article does not excuse the behavior in any way, but it tries to explain some components of it.

Face it. A society that embraces hedonistic debauchery spawns demented lunatics with no moral compass. Therapy and gun control is useless. The only solution is to have well trained armed personnel with a good tactical plan. Also the lunatic, once he shoots, should not be allowed to surrender. General Omar Bradley became frustrated that German snipers would kill American soldiers and then surrender when they ran out of ammunition. He directed that there would be no German snipers taken prisoner. The word got out and it turned out to be an effective deterrent.

I’m by no means excusing anything but one difference is that young boys are conditioned through media attention that this how they get “attention”, “fame”, “revenge”, etc.

I agree. And I think that is a largely undiscussed component.

With all the publicity they give these things, there is nobody to rein it in. It is an orgy of sorrow and political activism, propelling the publicity to higher and higher levels.

Is anyone surprised that in this day of instant Internet fame, that makes this spectacle attractive to some kids? I’m not.

Ban Guns, nope, ban the Second Amendment, nope. Here is my take. Eight years of Obama has ended up in placing both our Law Enforcement Officers and innocent American school children in fatal danger.

I knew the moment that I saw Barack Hussein Obama hanging out for twenty years with the “Hate America”, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, that Obama was no lover of the American Republic. His “transformation” formula for the USA was to diminish “LEOs”, cheapen their lives and fire up the race haters into a hate cops frenzy.

Ditto for school , hateful, male nutcases who, under Obama executive orders could roam free unabated, unrestrained & unharnessed to do anything they pleased, even killing their fellow peers in school at will.

It appears that finally governors and other politicians are realizing these facts and are taking actions now, other then “ban guns” (which is 100% useless).

The “nutcase killer kids” and “killer cop haters” must be stopped brought to justice, quickly, efficiently and effectively. Obama had his eight years to attempt to destroy this wonder nation...he failed...period. Now...we the people must correct his ills and his everlasting hate of this great country. Obama is and always has been an sworn enemy of the USA and “all” its people.

Right-that thing called ‘character’ is completely absent in young people.

Don’t believe it... just look at face book, you tube, twitter...

We have a society now days that seeks revenge for even slightest hint of offense. Road Rage. Online comments (ever read the comments below a Yahoo article?) and bullying. Jilted love. Ugly divorce. Everybody seems to want to “get even” with someone for something.

That is our problem. Not guns. Not video games.

Add to it the numbing of the reality of death. You can find images/videos anywhere online of dead/dying people. Remember that YouTube “star” and his callous showing of a body hanging from a tree?

We simply don’t care for one another anymore. No moral compass.

Luke 10:30-37
30 “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

The Masculine Hero role of the American male has been destroyed by progressive society. Every kid used to grow up wanting to be a hero; Cop, Cowboy, Fire Fighter, Fighter Pilot, Soldier, etc. As we grew up we found that even if we ended up in other roles, we could still be heroes to our families, our children. Now children are brainwashed that masculinity is evil, privileged, toxic, misogynistic and oppressive. So some young males reject masculinity, others continue to embrace it. A few, now unable to see themselves as heroes, see themselves as villains, and embrace that role.

Denigration of manhood.
Psychotropic drugs
Lack of corporeal punishment in schools.
Lack of sports for young men
Too much emphasis on social media

The short term answer is to arm teachers. If a teacher can’t qualify for a ccw due to violence or drug busts they have no business being in the class room.

I sent a letter to the Texas Lt. Governor and asked him to run a data test of active teachers in the state vs ccw holders as I felt the number of teachers that met both criteria would be significant enough that we might ask the question: Why are we keeping teachers from carrying when they clearly need to do so?

A different question than:Should we arm teachers?

Here’s a question. How come it seems that everyone of these school shooters never has anyone ever come up from behind them? Maybe we don’t get the full picture of what happened but it seems to me that someone could get the drop on them if they came up from behind while the shooter is engaged on a target or mass crowd firing. No one wants to get shot trying but we hear an awful lot about folks shielding other folks. Just a thought...

Because everyone is frightened witless and there are few Navy Seals or Rangers at schools.

Life ain’t like the movies, son.

Another question which needs clarification is: Why is the mix in colleges 65% female and 35% male. Was high school that awful?
