Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)
There’s this big wedding going on over in England as I write this, and for the life of me I can’t figure out why any American gives a damn. I’m just irritated because I won’t be getting my morning dose of news.
In the real world, there was another tragic school shooting on Friday, this time in Santa Fe, Texas, and all I can wonder is how long it will take before we find out that the Barney Fifes at the FBI had the killer under surveillance but did nothing to stop him. Being from Texas, I pray we don’t find out he had been disciplined by school officials more than 50 times for threatening and violent behavior, and that the local authorities had been called to his house more than 30 times in the few years leading up to the killings, and also did nothing.
Whatever the facts of the killer’s sordid life, here’s a fact no one can deny: 10 more innocent people – 9 students and 1 teacher – are dead, having been killed in another of America’s “gun-free zones,” which progressives like to keep our public schools, and 99% of those schools remain open targets for the depraved, demented potential killers lurking in pretty much every community in the country. Failing to note that the killing spree ended only when good guys with guns showed up and took the killer down like the animal that he is, liberal politicians everywhere grabbed the tragedy as an opportunity to score political points, which of course is what liberal politicians do with any good tragedy.
Never one to be outdone in the realm of rank hypocrisy, Andrew Cuomo, who presides as Governor over the peaceful, killing-free province of New York, sent an “open letter” (God, how I detest open letters) via his Twitter account (God, how I detest even more open letters sent on Twitter – the emptiest gesture known to mankind) to President Donald Trump:

Here is why Cuomo’s letter is so vile and detestable – even more detestable than your standard liberal self-serving reaction that inevitably follows tragedies such as this. The public schools in America are controlled at the state and local levels of government. The federal government provides funding and a flood of counterproductive “guidelines”, i.e. “dictates” that come with that funding, but the campuses themselves are governed by the states and local officials.
The fact is that Andrew Cuomo has done exactly nothing to protect New York’s school children in his eight years as governor. New York’s public schools remain wide open potential killing fields just as most schools in the other 49 states in the nation remain. As one Twitter user responded to Cuomo, “Why don’t YOU do something in the State of NY that is so terrific that the rest of the States in the USA will follow? IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO LEAD!”
Trust me, we don’t want Andrew Cuomo leading other states on this or any other issue. Talk about the road to ruin.
And what would Cuomo have the President unilaterally use the power of his office to do? Constitutionally, he could conceivably declare a national emergency and call in the National Guard to patrol every public school in America. Otherwise, not much he can do on his own.
Imagine the liberal wailing if he took that step. Literally every person working at CNN would have a case of the vapors for weeks. John Brennan and James Comey would dictate another 4,000 word piece to the New York Times justifying putting 13 spies in the White House. The DNC would respond by appointing Louis Farrakhan its chairman. Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!
Come to think of it, maybe calling in the National Guard is just the thing to do. Seriously, why not try it? Congress isn’t going to do anything. Governors like Cuomo are just baying dogs who will never take any effective action to protect children. Why should our airports and every government building in Washington and Albany be protected by heavy security, but our kids are just left out in the open as easy targets?
Go for it, Mr. President. If liberal heads explode, so much the better.

Cuomo's 'Open Letter' To Trump After Texas School Shooting Slammed On Twitter: 'YOU Do Something'
Read Cuomo’s letter the other day. What makes it such a bad joke is that you know that both he and his kids (and also his CNN talking head brother) likely have never darkened the door of a public school.
Where they’ve attended, it is likely that very expensive and exclusive and that habitual discipline problems that were also ticking time bombs (but still tolerated in the union shops) like this kid in Texas or Cruz or Lanza or Klebold and Harris would be the last thing to be concerned about.
If the government confiscated all guns in this
Republic, I’m sure they would be just as effective at preventing illegal guns from flooding across our borders as they were at preventing booze from coming in during prohibition, at preventing illegal drugs flooding in, and preventing illegal aliens from crossing our borders.
The real things that need to be done won’t even be discussed. Glorified violence in all parts of our society. From news, movies, and video games. Values have changed as a result. Family unity has been degraded and snubbed by society. But it is where children learn compassion and love. You learn to care about others. But 2 professions marriages leave little time for interaction of children under adult supervision. More emphasis is on acquiring wealth than developing social interaction. I could go on.
At least Barney Fife had a sense of duty. He was loyal and true. The breakdown of the FBI, OTH, and the arrogance with which it is still defended by these truly dirty cops is extremely depressing.

Maybe Andrew Cuomo should run for President on an anti-gun platform in 2020? Why doesn’t he do that? Oh, right, because this goofball couldn’t win a national election.

Consider that NONE of the left’s sovereign gun control remedies for school shootings would have prevented the Texas massacre. The shooter did not use a so called assault weapon, but a common hunting shot gun and a pistol. He did not use a high capacity “clip” as the media idiots call them. The guns were legally purchased by his father, and were taken by the shooter. However, all of the school shootings going back to Columbine have a common element, the shooters were all mentally disturbed and telegraphed their intentions weeks if not months in advance. School and law enforcement authorities failed to pick up on these signals. School shootings could well be prevented if school and law enforcement authorities would be trained to notice and be able to act upon these threats.
Many urban schools in high-crime areas (such as my birth city of Deetroit) never seem to experience school massacres. Could this be because all students have to pass through metal detectors staffed by armed guards at the only unlocked entrance to the school? I suppose that’s possible but then I’m not an overpaid politically correct school administrator who I’m sure knows better.
My nephew went to school with the 2 girls murdered by MS-13. They are terrorizing the students into joining. My nephew is one of the few lucky ones. My sister is doing well enough to have moved him in to her home in New Jersey, and she's enrolled him in a private high school, getting him away from the danger. But Cuomo actively fights President Trump's fight against MS-13.
