TV HAS BRAINWASHED MUCH OF OUR NATION
In many of my articles I have mentioned that I dont watch tv, and havent since 1987. Some people have written me and have accused me of doing a self-righteous act in mentioning that. Some have scolded me for inflicting my children with a goody two-shoes, forced piety. Still others actually accuse me of lying, saying that everybody watches TV. Well I dont. And let me qualify that my wife and I do enjoy watching DVDs of all sorts of movies occasionally. And we like some YouTube and some stuff on Netflix as well. We just dont do network stuff

Hey, Sean. Your blog uses a lot of bandwidth demands that we click. How about setting a good example and clicking here:

Pureflix.
Good for you.
My husband keeps the TV on at all times. It annoys me immensely. When I was a kid, we had a handful of programs that we were allowed to watch, and if those programs were not on, neither was the TV. I have been trying to teach hubby to be selective and turn off the TV unless he has a specific program he wants to view, but that is difficult.
Personally, I have barely watched TV since Friends went off the air. I find the noise of the TV unpleasant and abrasive.
I don’t watch TV either...so don’t feel alone.
Dont be bothered by the anti-blog chorus. I found the article salient and interesting and would advocate no tv just dvd only for my kids but that ship has sailed. Now the problem is internet and schoolmate whispers. I myself didnt have a tv for 15 years and am better off for it. It gave me a lot to binge on when I went Ill.
Used DVD...
A couple bucks and you have a Full
Season of shows!
Cable tv free since 2007. Cut the cable with a young son in the house. We never missed it.
Cable tv subscriber fees fund much of the LEFT MEDIA CARTEL. CNN gets half of its revenue from these fees. Wouldn’t it be fun to watch CNN circle the bowl?
We can do it if we are willing to disrupt our lives.
We almost never turn the TV on. Maybe two weeks goes by and it never comes on. I finally called Direct TV and told them to disconnect because we never watch. They begged me to stay connected and gave me a year at $14.40 per month so I finally said OK. I told my sister and she was like “ how do you get those deals? “. LOL!
I don’t watch TV either, I haven’t for years now. Don’t miss it.
Our grandkids once asked if our TV was “broken.” We laughed and said, “NO, we just like to talk with YOU and do other activities.”
I’m with you Dave Merrick. No TV since 1987? Got me beat by a mile; no TV since Aug, 2008. Coming up on ten year anniversary.
Sorry, not Aug 2008, it was Sept, 2008. Last TV I watched was Sarah Palin’s VP acceptance speech at the Republican Convention, Sep 3, 2008.
Can’t figure out why some people get their shorts in a knot when bloggers post stuff in the.....BLOGGERS section of FR.
I stopped watching TV in the 80s. But I found a free air channel that plays two Columbo episodes every Saturday night that I like to see.
