I agree. The press took the words completely out of context and twisted them, and furthermore used them as headlines so only people who read deep into the article saw the whole quote and understood what she really meant.
One headline said “Melania can’t do anything,” which makes it sound as if she’s incompetent at doing things; further in the article it turned out that the two women were just commiserating about the conditions of a public life (being in the public eye all the time, not being permitted to do simple things - such as opening a window - by themselves, etc.). It sounded like a nice, positive conversation and as if she really liked Melania.
Well, that’s true! The First Family might as well be prisoners in the White House. Their every move is governed by the SS, which is for their own protection, of course.
Read in context, this isn’t a slam against Mme. Macron’s hosts. Of course, Mme. Macron is not the First Lady of the most powerful nation on earth, so she doesn’t have either the same elevated status nor the same problems as the American First Lady.
What she said was 100 percent accurate but you don’t read a thing. Get with the program. You are embarrassing yourself and the website.

I’m assuming the windows in The White House are bullet-proof, and are kept close for a reason. I think Macron’s mother has eaten too many snails in her lifetime.
