Comey’s Utter Lack of Any “Higher Loyalty” Irrevocably Changed American History
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Former FBI Director James Comey thinks Donald Trump is “morally unfit” to be president. In other news, Carrie Underwood made a fabulous comeback appearance on the American Country Music Awards program, and the “Big Sexy”, 44 year-old, 285 lb. Bartolo Colon, tossed a perfect game through 7 innings against the world champion Houston Astros before finally giving up a walk and a hit in the 8th inning of the Texas Rangers’ 3-1 victory.

Thus, Sunday night featured two fabulous performers showing the world they still have what it takes to thrill their fans, and a 6’8″ petulant drama queen lashing out at the guy who fired him, in the process proving conclusively that he, more than almost anyone else in America, just needed firing.

James Comey is a truly tragic figure in American history.

The tragedy of James Comey is one of lost opportunity, one that dates back to July 5, 2016. That was the day on which, after spending 30 minutes on national television listing all the ways in which she had violated federal law and mishandled classified information, Comey announced to the nation that he would not be making a criminal referral in the Hillary Clinton email case.

On that day, he and he alone had the chance to demonstrate that one of the foundational principles of the American experiment still applies. That foundational principle is that we are a country in which all people are indeed created equal. That this is a country that has no ruling class. That this is a nation of laws, not of men, and that the laws that apply to the lowest among us apply equally to those who attain the highest public status.

James Comey could have become a true American hero that day by showing that this principle still applies in our society. Because he lacked the character and the courage to do so, he demonstrated, perhaps irrevocably, that the opposite was now true in Barack Obama’s fundamentally transformed America. We do now have a ruling class; we are no longer a nation of laws, but a nation of men; the law truly does apply differently to different people depending entirely on their class and political power.

Everything we have experienced as a country since has flowed directly from the cowardly act Comey committed on that day. Think of what he could have saved us as a country had he truly possessed the “higher loyalty” to the rule of law that he claims in his book.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign would have been dead in the water – even though an utterly corrupt Loretta Lynch would have no doubt refused to prosecute her, the Democrat Party would have had little choice to use its convention to select someone else to carry its banner into the general election against Mr. Trump, most likely turning to Joe Biden. The entire course of American history would have been different.

We have to remember that, despite the laughable claims that the FBI initiated its counter-intelligence investigation into the Trump Campaign because of a drunken conversation the pathetic hanger-on George Papadopolous had with some guy in Australia, the truth is that it was germinated by the fake Trump Dossier, which had been funded by the Clinton Campaign and the DNC, which the Clinton Campaign then controlled.

The entire Trump/Russia collusion fantasy play flows from that dossier, and the frantic decision by the Clinton machine on the day after the election to push that fantasy as the real reason she lost the election. That decision, and the cooperation with it by the Obama FBI and DOJ – along with other high Obama officials – led to everything that has followed, including the Mueller witch hunt that haunts the country to this day.

Had the Democrats been forced to jettison the Pantsuit Princess – which would have been a blessing to the Party – all of that changes. Trump might have still won the election, because the majority of the American people were clamoring for real change from the previous 8 years, but Biden might have been able to prevail, since there is no doubt he would have made for a more effective and appealing candidate than the Fainting Felon.

Either way, the aftermath of the election would have been entirely different. Joe Biden is many things, but no one has ever accused him of being an outright traitor to the country, as we have discovered the Coughing Crook to be. Where Clinton was perfectly willing to serve as the titular head of the post-election effort to reverse the voters’ decision, it is extremely doubtful Biden would have done the same.

James Comey’s utter lack of courage and character, his complete lack of the “higher loyalty” he brags about in his book, led directly to everything the country has experienced, thanks to his refusal to uphold the rule of law upon which this country was founded. In his unbridled hubris, Comey no doubt views himself as a historic figure. He certainly is that, just not for the reasons he imagines. The proof is in this very telling passage from his ABC interview:

“Down that path lies the death of the FBI…If I ever start considering whose political fortunes would be effected by a decision, we’re done.”

On July 5, 2016, that’s exactly what the giant drama queen did. The entire course of American history was irrevocably changed as a result.

Just another day in James Comey is a pathetic drama queen America.

That is all.

He was a tragic figure for the country all right. Didn’t do zilch about Fast and Furious, Lois Lerner, Hillary Clinton, and so much more.

James Comey thinks Donald Trump is “morally unfit” to be president.

How does he know what is moral? Leftard ethics is built on a subjectivist, relativistic foundation and standard.

Comey’s only loyalty is to Hillary, well, maybe himself.

James Comey is a truly tragic figure in American history.

I don't know, the world is full of liars and criminals and cowards, he's just another one. Some people are leaders, he is not as demonstrated by is abdication of his office and his role to investigate Hillary and request prosecution of Hillary. All we see now is an embarrassed Comey making excuses for not doing the right thing.

If all you want to do is "BOOK MARK A THREAD WITHOUT POLLUTING A THREAD WITH BOOKMARKS” you simply bookmark the thread according to FR instructions, which are quite clear. This does not produce a “Bookmarked” reply in the thread.

OTOH if you want to announce to someone that you think a thread is worthy of the attention of certain FReepers, you can simply say, “BUMP” or “Ping” in a reply to those who you think will be interested. But if you are really enthusiastic about a thread you can reply - again, to those whom you think will be interested - and express your enthusiasm by saying, “Bookmarked.”

Swear to God, FR has more resident process cops than the rest of the Internet universe combined. Unreal.
