Feedback on the new shingles vaccine? I usually lie low on medical treatment and don't go for 'the latest' treatment on much of anything. But then, I am healthy. Any feedback about this new vaccine? Side-effects? Avoid it? Go for it? Just collecting data here, thanks.

Got it last year - no problems at all afterward
I had it a bit over a year ago with no ill effects.
A couple of people in my family (father in old age 20 years ago, one of my sons as a teenager, mild case) had it, and it didn’t look like fun. So I sprang for the vaccine, which wasn’t covered by insurance and set me back about $230.
Am going to get one the next trip to VA. Wouldn’t give me one till I reached 65.

It is significantly more effective at reducing chance of out break and post infection neuropathy than ol vaccine.
I had a pretty big local reaction to it in my arm (redness and swelling) - but everybody I know who has had shingles says it’s the worst pain ever.
I had the shingles vax in august 2014, no side effects that I noticed. A good friend of mine got shingles, it was horrible I would hate to go through that.
During the election? Could the stress of the Sore-Loserman chad-count and subsequent court circus have been a contributing factor?
I doubt Shingrix was available at that time. You probably got Zostavax.

You’ll just need to spend a few months and read my blog outlining the proof of the concave Earth.
A friend of ours did not take the vaccine and developed shingles. She is now blind in one eye.
Didn’t know there was a new one
As bad as shingles are to get I’d say go for it and get the vac.
My friend got the shingles and she was miserable for a year.

My MD had no price for it and wasn’t sure about Medicare coverage——this was in mid-December.
The things I had read about it were very positive.
