"Trump is Winning," says Moscow analyst.

“Trump is winning,” Sergey Karaganov says. “It is already common ground that he will not be removed and that he is beginning to push his own agenda in both domestic and foreign policy. That "America First" agenda pleases a significant part of Americans, and Trump’s ratings have stabilized despite the wild hysteria in the American media.”

Trump “has every chance not only to work to the end of his first term but to have a second. In the worst case, he could put in his place his daughter Ivanka. I’m joking..."

Trump has adjusted to America’s diminished status in the world by promoting “limited involvement without obligations." This requires special forces but is relatively inexpensive. The military like it, they and the military-industrial complex are part of his base, and he supports this approach.

One should not expect an improvement in Russian-American relations anytime soon, he says. “Trump would like to develop relations with us, but he sees that this will give him an enormous number of minuses and very few pluses from the point of view of his domestic situation. Therefore, he has put this task off.”

Moscow must recognize that improving ties with Trump would require above all Russia distancing itself from China.” And at present, “relations with China are orders of magnitudes more important than those with the US.”

“Confrontation with the US is going to last a long time..."

Cankles can run for president of a assisted living facility in a few more years. If she runs again, the secret service will have to hire more ex-football players to catch her.

In another life, I knew Paul Goble and developed a respect for his knowledge of the USSR and how it worked. I recommend folks to read the entire article.

I think Ivanka must be a caricature even in RUSSIA. Remember what Putin thought of Me-again Kelly? A ditz.

Um no. They envy us. Because there is no free press there. And elections are not half as exciting when all you end up with is a dictator.

The military-industrial complex Republicans despise the notion of disengaging anywhere in the world for fear that it would adversely affect the profits of their major donors, and they comprise a large part of the never-Trump GOPe, so this Russian does not understand the dynamics as well as he believes.

Things aren’t exciting when all you end up with is the same dictator each time I mean...Putin is ruling longer than Stalin after all.

And any hint of “media hysteria” in response to his megalomania and predetermined election results is immediately squashed or leads to one’s arrest (or death) if you’re a journalist.

Yes. Russians engage in a lot of “projection” — viewing us from their moral compass and incapable of any other frame of reference.

The analysts there are incapable of comprehending that such a powerful country as ours can operate with noble intentions at all. That in fact we are anti-conquest and anti-imperial by nature.

The analysts also have trouble comprehending the concept of ideological diversity within even one American political party. Because genuine differences of opinion or any form of opposition to the ruling regime is essentially disallowed in Russia.

The reality is that Russia had a chance to become a world player with openness and fair trade when Obama made the US vacate the world stage, instead they retreated behind their rusty curtain. Now President Trump is pushing and asserting American strength throughout the world and Russia is going to be revived as a third world country with a first world military.

Moral strength, not weaponry is what carries the day in the end and America is getting our spiritual bearings back as China and Russia descends into the darkness of authoritarianism...and I even know some Russian servicemen...great people. Sad they have such a pathetic leader.
