Sure. If I was standing with a thousand miles of water between me and the gun. Anything shorter, no.
Cavitating bullets with video. http://www.guns.com/2012/08/28/pnw-arms-supercavitating-underwater-ammo/
I have this torpedo-shaped toy in my swimming pool
When you throw it underwater, it easily crosses to the other side of the pool as if it has no resistance.
Does anyone here know anything about that?
If I bullet was shaped that way would it travel further underwater?
On the bottom of the pool, near the inside edge of a lane marker.
He is shown holding it up to the applause of the others present.
It’s going a heckuvah lot slower.
It is encountering resistance and going deeper. I have one as well and have used it in a hotel pool, where it will only run the distance if thrown from the shallow end.
The resistance of the water seems to increase with speed. Landing in the ocean under the Golden Gate bridge might be fun it you jump from a canoe, but will smack the crap (and probably the life) out of you if you jump from the bridge.
thanks.
I has to single step thru it and I still missed it at first... from :40 to :50
it looks like it hit the pool bottom about 20 feet out.
--I have also offered several times to cook off a center-fire cartridge of the .30-'06 class in my leather gloved fingers ( with eye protection) if paid for doing it--never have got taker---
