And I have learned, that a relationship is never exactly 50/50 but 90/10 from >each< partner. Because, when you give more than you receive, the giving is reflected back on you in very positive ways.
And when you expect more from a relationship than you put into it, your relationship has two strikes against it and very likely doomed.

My late brother was very liberal as is his wife. Both of their daughters are also liberals but they both married conservative men. Strangely enough they all seem to get along very well.
