These photos give a whole new meaning to the term 'shotgun wedding'. A shocking internet gallery shows fans of the second amendment proudly brandishing their weapons on their big day. While the choice of ceremony might seem odd to most couples, gun-themed weddings appear to be becoming increasingly popular.

Looks like some of the couples have watched too many movies and tv shows as they are holding pistols sideways.

Sure as hell is not my style but if the bride and groom make a good go at a great marriage, God bless them.

Well, there are also people who do the entire wedding ceremony in the nude. I know a guy who did that. No, I did not attend.

Brit newspaper sees free Americans holding a weapon and pee themselves.

Dude - we are citizens, not subjects.

Note to terrs-

While there may not be a rifleman behind *every* blade of grass - you can damn sure count on a rifleman behind *most any* blade of grass....

Other than the woman in the orange dress having her finger on the trigger; I see no problem with this at all. The family that shoots together; stays together. An armed society is a polite society. Etc. Etc.

Pretty silly and distracts from the reality that a marriage is a covenant between God, man and the woman. Just a demonstration how seriously people put these acts these days.

When I was a kid, a ‘shotgun wedding’ meant it was a wedding under duress of a shotgun and “forced”. Was meant to “restore” or even force honor.

Retarded. Looks like something you’d see in Pakistan.

People have been getting photographed holding their weapons for as long as there have been photographs. Look at pictures from the Civil War and wild west eras, lots of men holding a pistol or rifle proudly.

Matching bandanas = gang attire.

I especially like the picture of her on the potty, panties around her knees and the guns on the floor. So classy. /s That being said, it is their wedding. They can do what they want.

There is some expensive hardware in those photos.
Looks like they had fun. And watching Brits pee themselves is almost as much fun.

Yes and no. Frequently, God will use a common interest, hobby, passion or past time to bring a husband and wife together. As such, it may be entirely appropriate to give a nod to that pursuit as the mechanism used by God as the spark of the relationship. If a couple met at a dog park, I don't see an issue with the dogs being present in some of the wedding photos, and even at the reception, though I certainly don't think they should be part of the ceremony.

On the other hand, attention whoring has become a problem at a lot of weddings, and in that regard, I agree...it does take the focus off of the sanctity and solemnity of th nuptials.

I’m not sure what they mean by “shocking”. It’s just pictures of some people holding firearms on the day a couple is getting married.

The next time someone tries to tell you a joke, do them a favor and tell them not to bother.

I wasn’t aware there was a commandment to advertise that reality at a wedding....

I saw your link and thought it had to be “that skit” or the one with Charlton Heston.

One of the best weddings I’d ever been to started fairly normal, for a wedding at a farm.

After the wedding, the reception started in the barn, but, migrated outside for the pig-picking. Then the skeet-shooting started. There was also an old broken piano in the field we all took shots at, the highlight being the bride shooting at it with a AR-15.

It wasn’t just for show!
