I’m betting the Bundy’s get found guilty.

This is a kangaroo court.

It’s a symptom of law enforcement around the United States. That is: Prosecutors , law enforcement , and judges with no common sense. All they see is $, regardless of your age, race, sex, and the only way to beat the system is to have money.

Perhaps a slight hope for jury nullification?

“...you claim over 89 percent of our land...”

I’m generally in agreement with the Bundy’s, but there are some misconceptions about the government owning that land.

When the great Western states joined the Union they had to account for ownership of the land. After everyone had what they wanted, the feds assumed management of the rest. There have been a couple of agencies created to manage the land; now it’s the BLM.

The feds never “took” the land.

Today I would agree that the BLM land should be turned over to the state/local governments as much as possible. It’s absurd to believe that absentee landlords would take better care of the land than local residents.

It is my understanding if I remember correctly that Bundy father or grandfather homesteaded the main ranch and had grazing rights for over 1000 acres of government land by the 1881 mining act of congress. This land was open to Bundy grazing until the area became populated which it hasn't been. The story goes that dirty Harry Reid wanted 94 acres for his son to set up a chinese solar site and the cows were in the way which caused the government invasion of the rights of Bundy and the killing/destruction of Bundy property.

The other conspiracy theory is that Russia’s Uranium One owns the mineral rights there.

The prosecution & judge don’t want the truth to be known. Hope the jury sees through this.

Unfortunately there has been a lot of bad information passed around about this case. The Bundy family didn’t own the land until the 1940s. The site of Dirty Harry’s son’s solar thing is about 100 miles away.

His main argument is that the land belongs to Nevada and not the federal government and as such the feds can’t regulate it. I get the point he is making - but he has no personal claim to the grazing lands other than being a citizen of Nevada (and the assumption that Nevada owns the land). Unfortunately the state of Nevada isn’t backing him up.

If you want the windmill down, usually there are better ways than to tilt madly at it. Such as to get neighbors interested in changing the scenery.

If this is a Mormon interest they need to learn how not to be so xenophobic. Traditional Christians will often be glad to help, but not if your missionaries get annoying, which they frequently do.

First thing defense attorney should do is move for terminating sanctions due to the deceit of prosecutor hiding the fact of the camera when directly requested in discovery. The fact that the prosecution lied leaves everything else from the prosecution suspect. The defense attorney should leave it matter with “so what else has the prosecution lied about?”.
