Trump’s son could be next top footballer coming out of the States after joining MLS side D.C. United

DONALD TRUMP'S son could be following the family tradition by writing his own headlines soon.

Youngster Barron has just penned a deal to join MLS side D.C. United's Under-12 team.

The 11-year-old is the president's only child with First Lady Melania Trump.

And he has surprise ambitions to become the next Christian Pulisic, USA's star player, after joining D.C. United's roster.

Paulo Maurer of MLSSoccer.com revealed the news on twitter with a screenshot of the Under-12 side.

Alongside the image he wrote: Guys, @travismclark just txted me and this is not a joke: Barron Trump is playing at RFK tomorrow.

"No, really. Not kidding."

According to the roster, Barron has already played four times this season and wears the number 81 jersey.

At the age of 11, he could already become one of the most talked about footballers in the States.

His dad, a known footie fan, did his bit to make English football great again all the way back in 1992.

Trump was given the responsibility of pulling the names out of the hat for the League Cup draw... before pulling out Leeds v Man United.

Jimmy Greaves shouted: "You don't realise what you've done there!"

And Trump replied: "That sounds like a game I'd wanna go to."

Soccer? Well, that could work.

It can't be said that Barron lacks ambition. Good for him.

Darn, I was hoping he’d be a running back or split end. It would be a great counter to all those worry warts who don’t want their kids to play American football.

Well, I doubt he’ll be doing it to buy a fancy crib or a sweet whip, or whatever the phraseology may be.

Great, but I would keep this out of the public eye as much as possible,
both so he can have as much of a normal childhood as possible,
and for security reasons.

Yeah, because repeatedly bashing the (even helmeted) head of an 11 year old is such a great idea.

American Football, played over a significant period of time, will basically destroy your brain. Thats not “global warming” science, thats REAL science. You think if Aaron Hernandez hadn’t played football his brain still would have looked like that?

This whole “grunt, scratch, get me another beer, those damn kids of today are too soft to play the football WE used to play” vibe is ridiculous. You and I used to ride around with seatbelts too. You still think that was a good idea?

Let’s hope the kid is well protected, with all the anti Trumpsters about.

I don’t think this should have been made public.

It’s also true that the speed and force of impact has risen as additional safety equipment was added - players think they are invulnerable now because they are wearing “protective gear” so they go full out, lower their head, improperly tackle, etc.

"11-year-old"?

Sort of jumping the gun on this?

I get the impression the protective gear was added on to spare the audience the sight of blood. There's nothing like the rate of football brain injuries in rugby because rugby doesn't wrap its players up in layers of external protection that increase concussive forces.

My niece’s soccer team was the absolute worst team in her league. To make matters worse, they wore orange jerseys which made them look like traffic cones. The name stuck.
