THE GOP ESTABLISHMENT'S LAST DITCH EFFORTS TO STOP ROY MOORE FROM WINNING PRIMARY RUNOFF

When he was interviewed on "60 Minutes" recently, former White House strategist Steve Bannon cited Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell as a great enemy of President Trump, even greater than House Speaker Paul Ryan.

McConnell's Super PAC and allied interests have relentlessly dumped millions into Alabama to fuel a massive media campaign to smear Judge Roy Moore and prevent him from winning the runoff election next Tuesday.

One ad claims Moore does not support President Trump's notion of a wall on the southern border, even though Moore has publicly said he supports President Trump including "the Wall".

As we all learned from the 2016 Republican primary season, the countless debates served one purpose. They were designed to destroy candidates not approved by the Republican Establishment and ended up being a gauntlet to destroy Donald J. Trump.

Appointed Senator Luther Strange's efforts to push Roy Moore into debates recently were all couched in high sounding language with the implication that Moore didn't want to debate.

For Moore, it was important that a debate not be a rehash of the nasty and destructive formats used against Donald Trump during last year's presidential campaign.

Moore called for a 'man to man' debate with his opponent.

In the end, Moore got Strange to agree to a Lincoln-Douglas type debate with no biased reporters or moderators in the picture, just the two candidates stating their cases. That debate is set for Thursday at 5:30 Central Time in Montgomery.

On Saturday President Trump will speak at a rally for Strange in Huntsville.........

This odd debate...ought to easily ensure Moore’s win. On a good day, Moore could easily out-debate Strange. However, with age creeping upon Moore, I’m not he’s a 100-percent. Also, if he brings any religious talk into the debate and centers on Strange past ethnics problems....Strange will just pull that ‘people in glass houses’ quote.

If Strange does win...I think a fair number of Moore supporters will just walk over and vote for the Democrats Kennedy instead in the final election. The anyone but Strange situation does exist.

I ask all Alabama FReepers to get out and vote for a Moore and get out your family & friends also. The Establishment is pulling out all stops in this election because they realize how EFFECTIVE Moore will be in the Senate.

President Trump needs to cancel the Strange rally for Saturday.

"Boys, we've got a problem! Moore's gaining on Strange - we can't let Moore win this thing!"

I have noticed a change in the Strange ads.

He now is sounding more conservative than Jesse Helms. I think he is still running the attack ads too.

Whether or not McConnell can help depends on whether or not Dems can cross over to vote in the GOP primary. That’s how he won when he was down by double digits.

Important to remember that Roy Moore is 70 years old, one year younger than President Donald J. Trump.

Is Trump too old to be POTUS with age “creeping upon him”?

Perhaps if Moore wins, especially be a large margin, Trump will realize that the movement he harnessed was never about him, but rather what he stood for. And then, hopefully, he reviews what he promised during his campaign rallies.

As much as I like him, I have my limits, and there’s a left-wing crap in the news lately (I know fake news...but this much and some half-denials worry me), and hopefully there’s a master plan behind it.

Pence is the RINO who balanced the ticket last year.

Pence’s cave to big business pressure from Tim Cook of Apple, the Cummins engine makers, the NCAA etc. in 2015 on a religious freedom law in Indiana speaks volumes as to Pence being into the pro-LGBT rights camp of the big business haters of Moore.

Technically anyone who voted in the Democrat primary last month can’t vote in this Republican runoff, but will any of the local RINO election officials, especially in Jefferson County (Birmingham-RINOland) be checking voters at the door????????

Watch for the GOP Establishment work with the democRATs to get their people to ILLEGALLY cross over to vote for Strange just as they did in the Mississippi GOP Runoff in 2014.

He doing what he would do whether Trump told him to or not...Pence is a Corporatist-RINO.

Like Bannon said, no one but himself at the White House stood up for the POTUS when he tried to explain there was violence from all sides in Charlottesville.

And I take ‘no one’ to mean Pence, too.

If you put Trump and Moore in the same room...Trump acts like he’s ten to twenty years younger. Moore might have lived a good healthy life but he’s probably not as sharp as he might have been in the late 1990s. That said....Strange is marginally capable of debating and an older Moore might still be able dance around the ring with Strange. This odd deal where there is no moderator in this debate...really puts some rather different factors at work.

the point IS the Trump WANTS him there period. It makes no difference what Pence’s beliefs are...

I get the Pence is a Rino... but he damn sure wouldnt be there if Trump didnt tell him to go...

Trump may get his first boos at his own rally in Alabama when
he mentions Strange or has Strange onstage.
It will be a terrible optic for Trump.
And something he could have avoided.

I hope that Roy Moore’s trouncing of the GOPe candidate is the start of a long series of primaries where GOPe-incumbents are flushed down the primary toilet by conservative newcomers.
