According to a report by the Washington Post the President is preparing to pull the United States out of it's trade deal with South Korea. Since the trade deal went into effect in 2012, U.S. Trade representative Lighthizer said the U.S. "trade deficit in goods with Korea has doubled from $13.2 billion to $27.6 billion, while U.S. goods exports have actually gone down. This is quite different from what the previous Administration sold to the American people when it urged approval of this Agreement. We can and must do better.
Trump was hopeful that negotiates could result in a better trade deal after meeting with the South Korean president in June.
Just finished a very good meeting with the President of South Korea. Many subjects discussed including North Korea and new trade deal! Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 30, 2017
President Trump has called out the free trad deal with South Korea for the US widening $27.6 billion trade deficit, but the South Korean government has refused to negotiate in good faith and make any concessions.
The President has no choice, but to eliminate a one sided trade deal that has actually resulted in less U.S. exports to South Korea since it's inception. But the globalist faction in the White House is pushing Trump not to abandon the crap the deal:
South Korea depends on the US for its security yet won’t negotiate a balanced trade deal? Unreal.
About time. All of these trade deals need to be redone.
BS....fake news...they just made a new deal.
LET’S MAKE A DEAL!
“Trump gives ‘conceptual approval’ of billions of dollars in US military equipment to South Korea”
By Daniel Chaiten
President Trump spoke with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Friday about the North Korean threat and during the call gave “conceptual approval of planned purchases” of military equipment.
As Pyongyang continued its provocations in the region this week, launching a ballistic missile that flew over Japan, a readout from the White House said Trump and Moon discussed their countries’ “coordinated response to North Korea’s continued destabilizing and escalatory behavior.”
“The two leaders agreed to strengthen our alliance through defense cooperation and to strengthen South Korea’s defense capabilities,” the statement said. Trump at one point in this conversation also “provided his conceptual approval of planned purchases by South Korea of billions of dollars in American military equipment,” according to the readout.
FOR DECADES the US leadership has cared about EVERYTHING:
Everything but the American people.
