So everything's looking forlorn and the left has their talking points that they'll beat til the end of time. I'm driving home and fuming and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
First off, the situation is already over - The only thing keeping this story alive are the Dems themselves. Nothing else can happen until the legal process is completed. Everything else is pure hysteria and half-cocked reactionary panic and Trump should point that out.
The left (and McCain) will go crazy again and calling for Trumps head at which point Trump should point out that the KKK has a legal right to exist and he's powerless to stop them and needs to respect their civil rights and if the left wants to stop nazism and the KKK then they should pass a federal law making such "hate" groups illegal and he will hunt them down.
The left WILL NOT pass that law (they won't even write it) because it a> will immediately put BLM, AntiFa and the Black Panthers on the list and b> it will expose the left (and McCain) for the anti-american people they really are.
They'll capitulate and this whole frenzy comes to an end and Trump comes out looking like the only adult in DC.
Or they WON'T capitulate and try to pass the legislation - at which point THEY become the targets of government abuse and will be rightly targetted.

The media template is that evil must be stopped. Trump will point out that he can’t, legally, “stop evil” as it’s a violation of basic civil rights as the ACLU has defended!
There’s no reinforcing here - it’s punching through the media template and reframing the debate.

Trump has won already. Trump doesn’t need to be saved. When his administration goes forward, he will fight for the important things. The Senate and House my thwart him, but the public knows that they did thwart him. And they will remember.
If Trump is removed then he’s proved that we don’t live in a democracy anymore.
I like it Skywise. Trump may not use your idea in its pure form, but getting people to lump the KKK to AntiFa in the same hate group bucket is a very good idea.
Maybe this will be food for thought preparing for Trump’s Arizona rally next week.

As to laws "making hate groups illegal", that's borderline suggesting we do away with the 1st Amendment. And just how long do you think it'll take Left to deem any and all conservative organizations are "hate groups"? They already believe that - you want to give them the force of actual law?
