All I can say is that if I were to sit on a loaded pistol and it discharged hitting me in my ‘privates’ it would surely be a ‘miracle shot’.

ie ...can’t (intentionally) hit what you can’t see

BUT

How does one sit on a pistol AND force it to go off?

My guess is he was playing ‘Quick Draw’ and the dummy drew with his finger INSIDE the trigger housing

OR

SHE SHOT HIM and they concocted such an unbelievable story it became believable as everyone was laughing so hard no one questioned it.

How does one sit on a pistol AND force it to go off?

If there were an object inside the trigger guard, such as a pen, sitting on the gun could force the object against the trigger.

That is the potential problem of keeping a gun in a purse, a pack or a glove compartment etc. sans holster.
