Reporter Maxine Bernstein of "Oregon Live" tweeted last week that Washington DC lawyer Rob Cary has been admitted to the defense of FBI Agent W. Joseph Astarita.
Astarita is accused of lying about the two shots he fired in the direction of Oregon Standoff protestor LaVoy Finicum at a roadblock that was part of a "felony traffic stop" aimed at arresting the leadership of the non-violent protest.....
Meanwhile, a video has been posted showing vandalism of the memorial at the place where LaVoy Finicum was killed along US Route 395 in Harney County, Oregon......

More than half the time, if a “high priced nationally known attorney” shows up to join a case, it is instead to *throw* the case, while making the defendant *think* they are getting the best defense.
It is a counter to the “Breaker Morant” problem. In that case, in a kangaroo court murder trial, a novice solicitor who dealt with contract law was assigned just before the trial began to defend against the murder charges. But what they didn’t count on was that he was both smart and determined. So he almost got acquittals.
So since that time, when there is a criminal trial in which the government wants no possibility of acquittal, they send in a “top” lawyer to put on a show, but not a good defense. If the defendant *thinks* the lawyer is putting on a good defense, he will be less troublesome.
So, bottom line, is the government planning to sacrifice this FBI agent? Or is the lawyer tasked with actually getting him an acquittal?
McCabe still in place as Acting Director, but some sort of ethics probe from ‘Inspector General’ at DOJ underway regarding him and his wife’s political activities I believe.
Well after I posted an article about the Second Bunkerville Standoff trial in Nevada the other night, my account was disrupted to prevent any posting of any articles.
The Oregon-Nevada Bundy Family protests are regarded by the government as terrorism-extremism and that hasn’t changed so far.
The 19 folks in Nevada accused in the April 2014 standoff near Bundy Ranch are jailed indefinitely without bail, as if they were terrorists at Gitmo.
FR actually says ‘no violence’ in the forum. Does that mean those supporting the First and Second Amendment protests where protestors fired no shots and committed no acts of violence (Oregon in 2016, Nevada in 2014) are considered promoters of violence?????

He described the process in an earlier reply in this thread, but I will detail it out better.
It wasn’t the usual message sent in the past along the lines of “You’re posting privilege is suspended” or something along that line.
It was a disabling of his ability to stay logged on. He is bumped off everytime he logs on to make a post erasing his ability to post any articles.
But he can post replies to posts like he did in this one, but only after multiple logons. He is logged out as he tries to post the replies and can only finish posting with additional logging on.

I think the info here is accurate much of it based on reporting done by MSM which I think you trust since you have expressed concerns in previous posts about the “extreme right” and so on.
People who are concerned about the “extreme right” usually have a high trust level for mainstream media.
A guy posted a video on his Facebook page seems the only outside the MSM source but we live in a new media universe in 2017 and videos are the “new media”.
When the government is corrupt all you get is rumors.
I should start a notebook for every sneaky political/legal trick that I hear about. I think I will number them and pass the notebook on to my descendants.
Regarding a video of vandalism of a memorial, I found it on youtube. Not sure what it shows. Just a typical small fire along a road, pretty common around the west this time of year.
I was there a month ago, had researched the exact location from contemporary tv news and the drone footage, and all I saw was a piece of flagging on a small tree.
I sort of expected some memorial but there was nothing to be seen, so I’m not sure what a fire destroyed or what evidence might be destroyed a year and a half later.
That will have to be a very large notebook.
Call it a Herculean undertaking.
