Most likely she was cleared years ago when she was not radicalized and has not been up for clearance renewal during that time.

The first couple of times I saw the name “Reality Winner” in a headline, I thought they were referring to the winner of a reality show.
Maybe I’m slow on the uptake, but, I bet others have wondered about such an unusual name.
In this bitterly divided country, there no longer exists the reasonable social consensus that was the basis of American patriotism. Many are now hostile or at best indifferent to traditional American values. There is a significant percentage of the population who would never pass the clearance criteria that were once used with effect by US intelligence entities to screen employees. In fact such people were actively recruited by Clinton and Obama and now permeate all agencies of the US government. There are many like Eric Snowden and Reality Leigh Winner in and out of government who will gladly undermine the American nation.
She speaks Arabic and Farsi and has training in other Middle Eastern languages, otherwise, I doubt that she would have been hired.

She probably carried her clearance over from the AF and had her background investigation done as long as 10 years prior. My last background investigation was done over 10 years ago, but it didn’t include any surveillance of my social media that I’m aware of. It just included a check on my criminal history, credit report, and interviews with coworkers, friends, and neighbors.
