In polling, a significant fraction of the audience responds with the answer they want the poll to produce, rather than the answer they actually believe. Even the people who vote “Christians do the same thing” know better. They just don’t want to add to “Islamophobia”.
Note: Christians actually do the same thing. While there have been over 31,000 lethal Islamic terrorist attacks since 9-11-2001, there have also been dozens of lethal terrorist attacks from non-Muslims in the same time period, some of which were from mentally-ill Christians. People will twist the truth beyond recognition in order to vote for the side they want to see win, even pretending that those two proportions are comparable.
I saw that but in a one on one debate it would be easier to address that since they would be hard pressed to show that Christians do it to advance their religion.
But even so, the methods of attack are generally not ones even Christians tend to use if they commit terror attacks.
Amazingly, 37% say “Christians do the same thing”. Are they idiots? Where is this happening?
I was surprised at first as well that “Christians do the same thing” was as high as it was. But then I realized that those are the anti-Christian nuts who don’t use rational thinking and and heard about the Crusades, so they are happy to slam Christians any chance they get.
If a mentally ill Christian commits an act of terror, they are NOT following Christianity. If a muslim commits an act of terror, they ARE following islam. Therein lies the difference.
