While I too see the the turmoil coming, I have not lost faith in God and the goodness of the people. God is in control and everything is unfolding according to His Plan.

Remember the old Tip O’Neal quote, “All politics is local?”

The nation will be saved at the local level. Find peace first in the community. People helping people at the neighborhood level. Those who suffer the most will be at the metro level who are currently the groups taking us toward collapse.

Out country’s strength is in our heartland and rural areas. People who have already confronted hardships and know how to make it through to the other side. The primary key is to realize that “we are not in control” and “there is a higher power that is in control.” If we are full of ourselves we have no room for God.

We are entering a period of diminishing of the ego self. The “self” that blocks us from knowing and experiencing God. The upcoming hardships are in many ways like plowing the soil in the spring so the good seeds can grow. While we are facing hardships, the end result will be that we grow and become more beautiful as God’s children.

Good times where we feel that we are in control are the stage for satan. Just as there are no atheists in foxholes, people turn to God in times of distress.

To the extent that we prepare by turning to God now, the journey through the hardships will be much easier. How do we prepare? By learning and following Jesus’s teachings. Not through war and inflicting pain on others.

Oh, BS...not unless there’s an all-out, weapons drawn, shooting war started by the left. Then we’ll DEFEND ourselves. Until then, there will only be the sporadic self-defense situation by the Right. The Right tends to respect the law. Besides, most have day jobs.

The Left, on the other hand, have little respect for the law and will destroy mucho public and private property in their childish tantrums.

Please remember, I went to pains to postulate a government utterly ruthless in the suppression of revolt. That does not describe a conservative government such as we have currently in power but it might have described a government under someone like Barack Obama of dubious patriotism, commitment to an alien philosophy of government, who despises the country anyway.

Such a government would retain control of the military, and not shrink from deploying the most modern weapons up to and including tactical nukes as well as airpower etc. it would not shrink from starving, freezing, thirsting whole populations.

These means would be conducted in the dark, at least the media reporting the means would be thoroughly censored. The rebels would be reduced to 19th century methods of communications.

Under these circumstances much of the very necessities of life of millions of people concentrated in cities could be destroyed from the air, or with an on-off switch or with a keyboard.

Once the population is beaten, the occupation army becomes similar to the Army which did not so much occupy Japan as administered it.

So yes, I under those circumstances very few boots would be needed. Other assets, of course.

We have not even approached the question, what with the rebels have left in the wake of their insurrection, even if they were not suppressed?

Great point, except that "the right" is not really "fighting back" in any significant way I've ever seen.
More important, "the left" is not even "escalating" these days, they are now just as insanely violent as they have always been, for as long as I can remember.
