I heard about this earlier. I thought it pretty unusual that they harmed the kid and didn’t just drop him off somewhere. Its the difference between car theft and kidnapping/murder.
It wasn't that long ago in Georgia when couple of thugs shot dead a 14-month old boy in a stroller when the kid's mom didn't have any money to hand over during a robbery.
People wanted to think that the mom was somehow involved. I guess they just didn't want to believe that street criminals could be so ruthless.
