Unless there is some change of Vietnamese government policy, this woman is not going to be deported.

Currently, Vietnam is one of the countries that refuse to accept its citizens back from the USA under the terms of a deportation. The VN government will not issue passports to such people. As a result there are Vietnamese-citizen career criminals in the USA with 100-page rap sheets who never get deported. They go in and and jail, but they don’t get kicked out. Orange County, CA has loads of such cases.

Hopefully, the Trump administration will start playing hardball with these crappy little countries (Thailand is another) and get them to take back their trash.

*Policy was changed in 2008. That fact was buried in the story.*

The real question is why American citizens have to pay her room and board in prison for 25 months first. Deport her now.
