Anyone can be an activist during life. True woke-ness belongs to those willing to turn their own carcass into a political statement.
Right now youre thinking, AP, there is no GOP health-care law. Theres a GOP health-care bill thats already deader than the people its supposedly going to kill. True, but clickbait has its own logic and slacktivism takes many forms. One mans Bring Back Our Girls hashtag is another mans FedEx-ing my ashes to Paul Ryan.
Incidentally, dont try to FedEx your dead body to anyone. As HuffPo notes, federal law makes the U.S. Postal Service the exclusive carrier for human residue. If you must ship your bones to Nancy Pelosi, make sure your relatives know theyre stuck waiting on line at the post office.
Washington, D.C., college student Zoey Salsbury has insurance today, thanks to a provision in the Affordable Care Act that allows children to stay on their parents health care plan up to age 26.
She said she watched in horror Thursday as House Republicans passed an Obamacare repeal bill called the American Health Care Act, either unaware their legislation would kill people, or simply unsympathetic enough to care.
So, Salsbury set out to make GOP politicians face the consequences of their vote, launching mailmetothegop.com, a website that pledges to send the ashes of your cremated body to a member of Congress, should you die because of the Republican health plan
Many of my friends will die if this becomes law, she said. People will literally die, and they dont see that thats going to happen.
She said she came up with the website on a whim, which is hard to believe for an idea this thoughtful. But then, thats also how people like Fred Upton seem to have decided to support the AHCA. One good turns deserves another.
If youre going to go to the trouble of sending your remains to Congress, go the extra mile and have them made into something attractive first, like a pendant or a brooch. A congressional office that gets an urnful of ashes is going to dispose of them immediately. Turn yourself into cufflinks and you could spend eternity adorning some very pricey lobbyists wrists. Exit question: If pro-lifers somehow amassed the ashes of every infant aborted in the Roe era, how many square miles of storage would congressional Democrats need to receive them?
Why , . . there’d be thousands and thousands of urns sent to congress! What t’will they do?
Sounds like another stupid idea from the insane left. They are so out of good ideas that mean anything and they wonder why they lose elections.
I’m pretty sure you’d have to get somebody to do it for you.
This is a great idea. I hope every terrorist in Antifa and everyone who supports their Anti-First_Amendment violence will mail their ashes to Congress as soon as possible. If they need a hand, I’d be happy to help them.
And if a muzzy kills you? Who gets the ashes?
Use the ashes in any concrete for the border wall.
.
I did a similar thing when Obama’s legislation gave me the runs.
Why do they have to wait that long?
What a morbid fixation. This is what many Dems chose to spend their days contemplating,’death, vengeance and futility’.
Not the best way to enjoy life. More the opposite.
they can take their ashes and shove them.they are projecting because they dream of killing conservatives.
“Im pretty sure youd have to get somebody to do it for you.”
No doubt and I’m pretty sure the ‘resistance’ would never do anything like using fireplace or ash tray ashes even if yours were available.
And as already noted there isn’t even a GOP health-care law to resist about in the first place.
I’m absolutely serious: The new Democrat voting bloc is the mentally ill. A stunt like this appeals to the mentally ill.
Sounds like fertilizer with potassium content for those plants.
Use the ashes as concrete binders.
When Democrats are in power no one ever dies.
“Ashes to ashes, and dust to dust. Without Obamacare he’s still be with us.”
Biohazard crime to mail this to people.
