Well, this is interesting.
Last week, a report circulated which indicated the Obama administration conducted more than 35,000 searches on NSA intercepts seeking information about Americans during the divisive 2016 election year.
Obviously, the biggest fish caught in the incidental surveillance net was President Donald Trump. The former administration has been claiming that Trump was never targeted, he was just surveilled due to associations with others.
Obama should say: “No, you weren’t important enough.”
He and Graham both want to know why.
Is he holding his breath?
Rand Paul should cheer up; if he was surveilled, it was only incidental.
Trump seems willing to let this go so long as all the “Russia stole the election” stuff stops, which it mostly has after he went public. But Rand Paul is a zealot about this stuff. If he got caught up in their net, he will never let it go. Never.
Nor should he. No one should let this go. It is a cancer on our democracy.
