lying soldiers have been historically confined to science fiction or comic books, but a British inventor may be about to change the course of warfare.
Richard Browning, who has been dubbed the Iron Man of Wiltshire, has constructed a personal flight suit and amazed delegates at this years TED Conference when he lifted off from the short of Vancouver Harbour.
Mr Browning, a Royal marine reserve, said a member the British military had already displayed interest in the suit, and had told him that the Ministry of Defence had given up on the idea of flying soldiers until they saw his design.

Splat. The sound of investors hitting the sidewalks when they discover physical laws govern the controlled atmospheric movement of mass. Besides, it’s British. The wife has to push to get it started and clean up the oil leaks.
It’s definitely cool, but I’m not sure what the point of hovering a foot off the ground is, and I’m not sure how that could be used militarily or what kind of weapons systems could be attached to it.

I have interest in the new MG being produced. Spartan interiors but supposedly good cars. Not available in the USA right now. I think the MG-3 and the MG-6 are being produced.

Two Triumph Spitfires here. I’ve paid my dues. They were damn fun to drive ... when they ran. But boy oh boy the hoods (front ends) went up and down a lot.
The most amazing bits of technology on that show were the batteries in that radio that lasted for the entire run of the series.
That, and Mary Ann, of course.
