I am not in the habit of posting vanities, but my family and I need some prayer. My Wife of nearly 28 years and I are adopting a little girl. The mother asked up to adopt, but has recently been giving mixed signals as to whether she still wants it to happen. The father has no interest in his youngest daughter.
I learned today that we finally have a court date in late May. I hope and pray that the mother realizes what is best for the little girl, who has been living with us full time since August 2016.
Please pray that this will all work out as painlessly and beneficial as possible. My fervent hope is that means an easy adoption, but I recognize that my desires are not necessarily God's.
I am not used to being so afraid - I and my whole family love this little angel and desperately want her to become part of our family. Thank you all in advance!

I don’t feel bad about the prayer request at all. I know that if a passel of prayers head up from this site, and even more from my wife’s prayer lists, then the right outcome will prevail.
I am flooded with relief for the next step in the process as well as fear for what it may encompass.

Thank you. She will be our fourth child - 3 via the grace of God through natural means, and her through his wonderful grace via adoption. All of our other kids adore her just as much as my wife and I do.

I have three similar situations in my own family, so I understand.
I know the proclivities of the court. This adoption was actually spurred by her request. She has some personal issues that make it very difficult for her to take care of the child.
All I am asking is that my FRiends (all of those who read this thread - LOL) pray that the best interests of the child are defended by God. My heart hopes that it means she becomes my child, but if that is not God’s plan, I pray that he will give me the wisdom to understand it and the grace to accept it.
My wife and I are prepared to fight for this little girl, using all factual information at our disposal.
I will certainly try to keep my FR friends updated. Thank you for your prayers.
