Amazon under fire for refusing to bow down to Muslim religious demands

The security firm that patrols the headquarters of tech giant Amazon has been accused of allegedly mistreating its Muslim workers, with critics claiming the contractor does not appropriately accommodate their demands for prayer breaks 5 times a day — and retaliates against those who speak out. Three workers have filed charges claiming the company retaliated against them for complaining.

PJ Media The Service Employees International Union and three Muslim guards who work for Security Industry Specialists, the security contractor Amazon uses to guard its facility, accuse SIS, and by implication Amazon, of refusing to allow the guards space to pray five times daily.

Essag Hassan, a former SIS guard at Amazon, said he was let go because of his request to be allowed to pray on his work break. “I was fired and not given a reason why,” Hassan said. “I’m speaking out for all Muslim security workers and for workers of any religion. When you ask for a space to pray on your work break, that request should be treated with respect.”

Think Progress “Unlike other companies in locations with large Muslim populations, Amazon has not supported Muslim service workers requesting space to pray during their work breaks.” But they have.

More broadly, they claim that SIS — and Amazon — both have a history of mistreating or failing to accommodate those who claim Islam as their faith. Earlier this year, workers began claiming that SIS employees cannot access prayer rooms throughout the work day, even though devout Muslims typically pray five times a day as part of their faith.

NEVER HIRE A MUSLIM Reason #168: Amazon under fire for refusing to bow down to Muslim religious demands

The Muslims that are protesting Amazon (on May 1st) are revolting for space for prayer breaks. The Muslims are working for a security company that Amazon hired, or contractors.

Amazon didn’t want the security people to join a union so they outsourced it, but SEIU is standing up for the Muslims anyway.

Essag Hassan said “I was fired and not given a reason why. I’m speaking out for all Muslim security workers and for workers of any religion. When you ask for a space to pray on your work break, that request should be treated with respect.”

I'm sick of these opportunists Muslims.

Every imagined slight is tallied......and used to advance their hate-filled religion.

Their lack of self-esteem is nauseating....they should contact a good psychiatrist.

I support the notion that you time is purchased by your employer. Once on the job, you time is dictated by the employer. If the worker disagrees they can resign. Many people want their job. Religious processes are not in their job description. The workplace should be free of this, and is an irritant to a workplace environment. I especially dislike the Muslim pushy attitude, and their hateful rhetoric, and disdain to non-muslims outside the work environment. Again, JMO.

Good going, Amazon. Don’t let the savages bring you down. And why do you hire any of them, eh?

Any non-muslim that supported that BS is a damned fool. Bowing down before evil will have its price.

These unions and “interfaith” idiots show more compassion than they did for the real victims of 911. 3000 American families lost loved ones on 9-11-2001 because of ISLAM. And these people bowed to this evil perverted greedy warlord? Freakin’ idiots.

It is alarming that Amazon has outsourced/ contracted security to Muslims.

There is another article that discusses the role of SEIU and the fact they are protesting on May 1st - the socialist holiday.

Amazon didn’t want the security people to join a union so they outsourced it, but SEIU is standing up for the Muslims anyway.

The protests may seem to be interwoven, almost as if the Muslims were using the leftist May 1st date to encourage the leftists to join in or at least in the news, the protests would seem to be the same.

This type of collaboration has been posted before - the leftists are supporting the Muslims.

“When you ask for a space to pray on your work break, that request should be treated with respect.”

Fine. There are plenty of spaces off company property.

[Other than quoting other posts, I see no comments from the poster??]

the post had the first paragraph, then the quotes and many photos.

Then also said:

A similar dispute flared up at a manufacturing plant in Wisconsin that same year, when the company suddenly revoked a policy that had previously allowed 53 Muslim workers to take five-minute breaks for daily prayers.
The debate came to a head on February 17, when protestors worked with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) to convene a “pray-in” outside Amazon’s headquarters to draw attention to the issue.

All employees, by law, get a 15 minute break every 4 hours. They knew the rules before taking the job. Abide by the rules in place when you accepted the job or quit.

Outraged Muslims to Rally Against Amazon Over Alleged Lack of Prayer Rooms

http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/04/22/amazon-outraged-muslims-demonstrate-against-alleged-lack-prayer-rooms

Outraged Muslims are reportedly planning a May 1 demonstration at the Amazon headquarters in Seattle, Washington.

The company is under fire after several Muslim security guards demanded time and space to pray five times a day, while on the job.

The guards contend in a lawsuit filed this week that the subcontractor who employs them does not appropriately accommodate their faith and retaliates against those who speak out.

I pray all day long, I pause a moment, I breath in, I breath out and in my soul acknowledge God is great and then I continue with what I am doing. I may even be in a conversation when I do this, God knows, what is in my soul and mind. There is no need for the rote and ritual inconvenience of bowing down as if to an emir.
