CINCINNATI -- A federal court has ruled against Maribel Trujillo, a Fairfield mother of four whose deportation local political and religious leaders rallied to oppose.

A three-judge panel at Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals denied Trujillo's petition for an emergency stay of removal Tuesday afternoon, clearing the way for federal authorities to transport her back to Mexico.

Trujillo's attorney Emily Brown said they decided not to appeal the full Sixth Circut; rather, Brown said she "(hopes) ICE will use its discretion to do the right thing and not deport (Trujillo)." Trujillo and Brown did file a motion to the Board of Immigration Appeals, but Trujillo could already be in Mexico by the time the motion is considered.

The attorney said she hopes statements by Sen. Sherrod Brown, Sen. Rob Portman and Gov. John Kasich on Trujillo's behalf may motivate ICE to halt the deportation....

The liberals who want open borders attempt to blame immigration officials for “ripping families apart”. No, it was part of the calculation these Mexicans considered and decided to risk it. It’s their fault.

But...But...they’re Americans, ‘cuz she says so!

Doesn’t every nation on Earth let the invader class decide who their citizens will be??

I blame it all on the open borders morons for creating the situation in the first place.

She actually ####ed these kids as now this is all they know and they can either stay here without mom or go back to Mexico with her.

She did them no favors.

The blame lies on Democrat for their tacit encouragement for illegals to come here- with their ‘sanctuary cities’ and Obama telling them they will not be prosecuted if they illegally vote...

For over 2 decades they accepted it AND GAVE THEM WELFARE. What do you think will happen?

This is why we have to have a review of SOME cases. Children who never lived in Mexico and have lived here their whole life- what do we do with them?

CRIMINALS - GONE! (after kicking their ass and putting them in jail)

Anchor baby law needs to be repealed, or at least inapplicable for ILLEGAL aliens.

The only statement that matters: "The appeals court said it did not have jurisdiction over her “final order of removal” by the Board of Immigration Appeals, which was issued May 20, 2014. The three judges said in a two-page decision that Trujillo failed to appeal it within 30 days."

She didn't care enough to appeal the original order of removal in 2014......so bye, bye.

She was already under an order for deportation and had been issued a temporary work permit, which was valid until this July.

She had not been deported due a backlog of immigration cases in the courts.

Trujillo came to U.S. 15 years ago "after drug cartels targeted her family."

Everyone will be a refugee now...

Mark my words...

Actually, there are thousands of illegals I’d deport before I’d go after this woman. How many drug dealers did we send south today? Rapists?

However, this case does send a powerful message to Mexicans and the international publicity reinforces the fact that illegals are illegals and subject to deportation even if they’ve never committed a crime (besides being here illegally.) Maybe her family will move back to Mexico and do well thanks to health care and education they received here. Would be interesting to follow up on this case.

“Take your anchor babies with you.”

Round up the whole family and deport them. That will send a message.

It figures that Kasich would support a criminal, but he couldn’t support Trump. The woman’s been here since 2002. You’d think she would have taken steps to become legal, especially since Bush and Obama were were so accommodating to illegals. She was arrested in 2007 at a factory she was working at, but was never sent back to Mexico. Seems to me she’s had more chances to correct her immigration status than she deserved.

Time to announce that babies of illegals born in the US are not citizens.

It is my understanding that foreigners who are here as diplomats/military attaches, and have kids, they are not granted citizenship but remain citizens of their native country. So why not extend that umbrella to illegals, as you suggest?

Which was the other issue.

Her attorney did not want to file an appeal but, wanted to play on the emotions of a larger audience and looked to leverage that politically.

She bet it all on a true Daily Double and Alex Trebeck says “Buh Bye”

“”It’s not justice anymore when it’s ripping families apart.””

So, if she had been here legally but she robbed a bank and had to go to jail for it wouldn’t that be “ripping families apart”? At least the family can stay together in Mexico and NOT be ripped apart.
