Schumer promises Gorsuch filibuster, so McConnell, McCain, and Graham tease Reid's 'nuclear' option

Whatever it takes. This is a knife fight for the future of the country

Whether you like to refer to it as “The Nuclear Option,” the “rule change,” or “The Reid Option,” know this: Rumors of its usage for the Neil Gorsuch appointment are everywhere.

You’ll recall that, back in January, Chuck Schumer said “If they don’t appoint somebody good, we’re going to oppose them tooth and nail.” Then, just a few sentences later, he admitted that there really was no judge that Trump would nominate who Democrats could back. He basically promised endless filibuster in a doomed effort to keep Scalia’s SCOTUS seat empty for the next 4-8 years.

All of the GOOBers who voted for Kagen and Sotomayor can KMA. Like Schumer, they should have said that they worked hard for 24/7/365 trying to find a way that their conscience would allow them vote for those two bimbos but they kept coming up with a dry hole. Instead, they went the sissy boy route. NUKE ‘EM! and nuke ‘em again for the next justice PRESIDENT Trump sends up! Do it for Harry Reid. Make him proud!

As I just posted on another thread, if Schumer thinks Gorsuch is not qualified to join SCOTUS, then NO ONE is.
So the Pubbies need to hang the term “obstructionist” around Chuckies’ neck, and that of every other member of the Dhim party.
Then, they need to use the N.O. for Gorsuch, and every other SCOTUS nominee for the next 4, snd hopefully 8, years!

Then.

Don’t forget that Reid even forced an end to Ted Cruz’s marvelous 22+ hour real filibuster.

Apply the damn Reid rule to EVERYTHING!!!!

“Time for the GOP to start acting like the ruling party.”

Time for the GOP to start acting like vertebrates.

They need to show some backbone. Show some courage.

And show some intelligence while they are at it.

Trump didn’t push the hearings fast enough. They’ll do anything to delay the vote until after the April 1 deadline.

I think they should make him do an old-fashioned filibuster to see how long he’s willing to keep it up. Then use the Reid option to render his efforts pointless.

It’ll show him who’s in charge, and who isn’t.

I'm glad this is going to happen now, when Gorsuch is so obviously qualified even the ABA has to admit it. This appointment, however, will not change the composition of the Court from what it has been for decades. The next one, if it is a liberal judge retiring/dying, will.

I was hoping that the filibuster rule would change now and not wait for what will be all out war. It's not just the Republicans who can be the stupid party.

I agree. One step further, save time and go Nuclear Option today. Then use it for everything you can. Trump’s voters will love it and there will be no real backlash except for the media whinning.
