Tillerson: Oh yeah, military action against North Korea is an option
Canada Free Press ^ | 03/17/17 | Dan Calabrese

Done with "strategic patience."

This is sure to bring about shrieking from the left that Trump “wants war,” and that under no circumstances should we even think about using weapons or the Armed Forces against Bowl Cut Jr.‘s hermit torture paradise. That’s been official U.S. policy for at least the past eight years, and de facto U.S. policy much longer than that, if only because of the presumption that the Norks either have nuclear weapons, or are awfully close to having them, and could turn Seoul into a sheet of glass if given enough of a provocation.

Would the U.S. actually attack North Korea? According to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, you and they would not be wise to simply assume we wouldn’t:

It is my view that military action is MANDATORY. We have now ceased diplomatic efforts. The little arrogant bastard has threatened both the mainland of the US and our Asian military forces. I say NUKE THEM NOW!! KABOOOM!!

The Left is upset about a possible war with the Norks? Over the past few months they have seemed willing to fight the Russians, if it would get Hillary elected or keep Trump from succeeding.

Oh, and by the way, if anyone on the left side of the political aisle sees “Red Dawn,” it should be the 1984 original, not the remake where North Korea replaces the Russians as the bad guys.

” North Korea has nothing to fear from the United States”

...is a very good way of assuring lots of bellicose behavior from North Korea.

these latest actions and words provide a much safer route.

and could turn Seoul into a sheet of glass if given enough of a provocation.

That would require an H-Bomb, which they have nowhere near the capability of producing. The barely have A-Bomb capability..............

I don't know--if North Korea has developed something like a implosion-style atomic bomb with a yield of 20-22 KT, a direct hit on downtown Seoul could cause hundreds of thousands of deaths given the population density of Seoul and collapse of many tall buildings within 100 meters of Ground Zero.

Exactly. Nothing new here except maybe for Obama.

Last I heard we were in a state of War with NK, and
only an Armistice remained, which has been since rescinded

If we are at war, so be it

Let’s try an official declaration of war by Congress before we vaporize NK. Y’know, like the U.S. Constitution states.

Unless the Norks have a Death Wish, they won’t dare do that.

Once atomic weapons have been used, all bets are off.

The other side can unleash the full power of a hydrogen barrage that will vaporize every city and military installation on their side of the peninsula.

People do not realize what a H-bomb can do. If there had been an H-Bomb dropped on Hiroshima, the damage would have bee a 1000 times more than what there was.

See #9 and #10

We have been in a continuous State of War
with NK since the 1950's

This is just a subtle message to the Chicoms that if they can’t keep their pit bull penned in the yard, we’re gonna have to have her put down. After they do it, we’ll end up making some concessions in other matters like the South China Sea and all those little natural and man-made islands.

"We have been in a continuous State of War with NK since the 1950's"

Huh?!? The United Nations has been in a continuous state of hostilities with NK since its Security Council Resolution 84 of July 7, 1950. The armistice was signed by a U.S. representative of the United Nations Command (UNC).

There has been no U.S. Declaration of War against North Korea.

It is time. Enough is enough. It should have been stressed decades ago that a threat of nuclear attack will be met with severe consequences beyond stupid diplo-speak. The wild card is China. I don’t think, even with a President Trump, the United States has the nuts anymore to do what has to be done. This is nothing against President Trump. Inexplicably, in any military action, we would “look bad” no matter what and we would have to clean up the mess when we “break it”. Anything done has to be a unanimous decision of all major powers and unifying sentiment. I don’t see it even from South Korea’s government and people. We will probably just give the wierdo some gifts, strongly worded gibberish and hold him off for four years. I could be wrong. I am just a wannabe keyboard political scientist.

There has been no U.S. Declaration of War against North Korea.

You are correct that Congress did not declare war
Hence the term Police Action, per
United Nations Security Council Resolution 84

Congress DID formally appropriate funds for war actions however
and continues to fund emplaced soldiers, war making materials, and barricade actions
