Halfway there....
It’s not a gigantic line item in the federal budget, but don’t get caught up in the Washington way of thinking: A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon you’re talking about real money! It’s $10 billion. That’s lots and lots and lots of real money. And while cutting half of it might only be a blip on the radar screen as far as the overall federal budget is concerned, it’s would represent around 10 percent of the UN’s budget if Trump and Tillerson really do eliminate it.
That ought to rattle the snowflakes...

It should be 100%.
If we’re not going to get out of the U.N. entirely, we need to tell those despots and dictators that our contributions will match our voting influence. If our vote is worth the same as any other random member nation, our funding will be the same amount as is paid by that other random member nation.
The statement should be “Let’s get the hell out of the UN —until— the UN denounces their own anti-Semitism and cleans their act up

How will they fare if/when Mr. Trump serves the UN with an eviction notice next week?

As far as I am concerned, Trump could defund the entire amount instead of just 50%. Why not 100% and let the rest of the worldwide “free loaders” cough up their share as payback for all the years the U.S. has been carrying the load?

Just to play Devil’s advocate. Could giving up our veto on the Security Council actually make that situation worse for a country such as Israel?

Some folks will never be satisfied - a week ago it was 25%, now it’s 50% - he’s moving in the right direction and still maintaining US veto power.
