>> I hope first on his list is getting rid of the NSA or the CIA one. We certainly don’t need all of those spies breathing down our necks. <<

We have 16 spy agencies. We could do with 14 fewer.

Let’s see them try to argue that government is too small and so efficient!

The people will actually start laughing openly at the media

They will probably say Trump is killing jobs.

How 'bout this: An Executive Order:

Effective today, all agencies, bureaus, and like entities of the US Federal government with the exception of the US military and INS, now have their budgets reduced by 10%. Those affected entities are expected to provide the same or better services after this reduction. Any manager who cannot fulfill this edict will be replaced by someone who can.

Have a nice day.

How's this:

Because of today's snow event only key and essential personnel are to report for work.

Whoever doesn't show up for work is fired.

Why should the US Military be exempt? They waste more money than all of the other agencies combined. If anyone is a candidate for eliminating redundancy and waste, is the Department of Defense.

The NSA - Little Georgie Bush

EPA - “I’m not a crook” Nixon

What would Romney or McCain have given us?

Because Obama’s defense spending reductions need to be held in check. True, there is waste, but I fear cutting their budgets further will harm the US in the long run. I would not be against procurement reviews, however.

Okay then here’s a start. “The US military will conduct a review of all overseas installations. That number, and the number of personnel deployed will be reduced by 50% by the end of 2018.”

Why are we still in Germany? Why are we still in England? World War II ended 75 years ago. Its time to bring those folks home.

In the case of the military, you’d have to aim directly at the Pentagon, and likely tell them to dismiss 8,000 of the likely 21,000 employees in the building. I don’t think those guys could accept something like that.

“President Trump Orders Review Of Government Structure To Reduce Size And Cost – Huge Undertaking”

“Government Structure” is another name for the “Administrative State.”

“The Birth of the Administrative State: Where It Came From and What It Means for Limited Government”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3528473/posts

Almost all of the Administrative State is ILLEGAL.

Federal government control of healthcare epitomizes the worst in Administrative State. Federal government control of healthcare also sets up it’s own economic structure within our government. It is ILLEGAL!

The thinking is that if we pull out we’re just going to have to go back in 20 years anyway!

I think we are still there because of the NATO alliance and the need to keep a close proximity to Europe in terms of a fast response team. Given the fluidity in the Mideast, some European bases make sense.

Hopefully this project isn’t managed like the repeal of commie care where they want to do “everything at once” (replace) and thereby stall the entire effort to the point nothing happens.

The way to manage this is when you find something to cut, CUT IT RIGHT AWAY.

DO NOT wait for a comprehensive review of the entire multi-trillion behemoth that is the fed gov to come up w/a giant list before doing anything at all.

Some low hanging but not very costly but very wasteful low hanging fruit would be any of a number of useless commissions hanging around. Such as the Office of Navajo and Hopi Indian Relocation from 1974.

https://www.onhir.gov

That is just one that should be over and done with.
