Nobody knows much about the Mexican border wall -- but 300 companies have already said they'd like to help build it.

Businesses will be asked to submit their proposals to design and build prototype wall structures near the United States border with Mexico starting next week, according to the Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection agency.

Hundreds of companies have already indicated their interest in the project to the agency, which expects to award the initial contracts in April.

They range from large construction firms to small fence companies and security firms. Dozens of the interested companies say in their paperwork that they are owned by Hispanics.

But even these companies know almost nothing about the plans they'll bid on....

I wonder how whatever is going on with CAT will affect their ability to play? Clearly a boon for their business.

my nephew, who works for a highly acclaimed construction company, received a call from Haliburton not long after the election inquiring if he was interested in taking part in building the wall...

The wall goes up but there will be huge underground tunnels. They will have underground subways newspaper stands and vendor stations. Too funny.

High Speed 3D Ground Penetrating Radar to detect tunnels.

300 meters deep? No problem. Just specify what you need - and you can flexibly upgrade later. Maybe use a lot of low cost units for frequent scans, and a super-deep detector occasionally.

If we get enough companies to build a prototype Wall on the border, the wall might be finished in a week or two instead of two years:)

Uh Huh. They will pound re-rod into the ground for the footers and onto those rebars will go motion detection sensors. They can pick up a GD mouse digging they are so sensitive...and from a good long ways off.

You really think they can get away with tunneling when there are sensors so sensitive available?

I would love to see these tunnel rats try it. You know what thumper truck is? Well those are the trucks that the oil companies use to send vibrations into the ground for oil exploration. I would love to see them send a few of them along that wall vibrating that ground when they detect a tunnel.

Cave ins will become a very big hazard for the rats.

Start the building in locations where the snake-in-the-grass US Senator John Cronyn says it is least needed — expand from there!

“Cave ins will become a very big hazard for the rats.”

Flooding can be a big surprise as well...

Fuel Air explosives are especially effective in tunnels or bunkers, but they would never approve that.

Pump in Hydrogen Sulfide gas - it’s really quite humane. More shovel ready jobs for border disposal crews.
