Joe McCarthy, a WWII hero, belittled and vilified by Hollywood and the MSM alike, has been vindicated not just by the release of the Venona papers but, most recently, by the appalling and constant anti-American rhetoric and behavior of Hollywood. There were communists in Hollywood. Today actors and actresses are no longer shy about their communist views and affiliations, and want to make sure that Americans buy into their communist social engineering and perversions while they enjoy the spoils of celebrity capitalism.
Joe McCarthy had nothing to do with the house committee on unamerican activities that investigated commies in hollywood. Joseph McCarthy was a Senator and investigated commies in the state department. Of course libs hate anyone who investigates commies, so they’re all the same
Yes, he was, because liberals are too stupid to figure out why Senator Joe McCarthy could not be on the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
McCarthy’s problem is he wasn’t an Intelligence Officer and was relying on whistleblowers providing him documentation.
Dulles fed him bad information through a fake contact that blew up in his face and threw him off of investigating the CIA who was infested with Communists which even he knew and had to save their “reputation”.

He wasn’t shot with a gun, but Joseph McCarthy gave his life in defense of his country just as surely as any soldier who died in a shooting war.
On the contrary, McCarthy has been shown to be correct in nearly every case he went after. I have often wondered if he was getting Venona data, but could not reveal his sources.
“Blacklisted by History” is one of the best and most detailed, factually correct books on the subject.
Joe McC was my Senator when I was an undergrad student in Univ of Wisconsin (Madison), and sent me upon my request a copy of the USDept of Agriculture yearbook titled “Soils and Men,” a tome that became a virtual classic of its genre, its content authored by scholars of great renown, including international, in the profession of soil science.
The term McCarthyism is used too loosely by those who should know better. One notable example is BOR.
McCarthy was right and the fedgov was honey-combed with Soviet agents, direct and indirect. All the Left’s campaigns were based on lies: Alger Hiss was a traitor and agent; the Rosenbergs were nuclear spies for the Soviets. The Communist Party even had at least one Congressman - Nate Dickstein from Brooklyn.
He was at first, which is why Dulles was so scared. He had Angleton come up with a way to sabotage McCarthy because he was terrified of him coming after the CIA.
They convinced James McCargar to feed him bad information, it was in Legacy of Ashes.
He was setup with fake information which allowed them to destroy him before he got too far.
He surly did. People were as gullible then as they are now.
Can you give me an example, or a name of one of the people who was considered to be a setup of a person with fake information?
I am curious. One of the most virulent criticisms against McCarthy was his “naming names” and his irresponsible smearing of innocent people, both liberal smears themselves which were completely false.
When I hear “McCarthyism” I shut off the source immediately. They have bought into the slander.
And Bill O’Reilly is a bag of hot air anyway. I wonder if he really does know better, and part of me says he doesn’t, which makes it even more egregious. He is in a position where he SHOULD know better. If he doesn’t, it is deliberate ignorance or worse.

I am going to check out the book, but I did notice the people who all rave about the book are sources like the New York Times, the Washington Post, Mother Jones, et al.
Off the bat, that doesn’t bode well in my opinion, because I view all of them as enemies of America (with an axe to grind) but I am going to take a look. Thanks for the suggestion.
To me, liberals are one thing...like the scorpion on the frog’s back, they do what they do, and I take them at that.
Bill O’Reilly is one of those spineless people who seem to want it both ways. They like being able to say they are “speaking truth to power” attacking some perceived injustice and all that goes with that, but at the same time, be the voice of the patriotic American.
And you can’t have it both ways. People like him piss me off more than liberals, who can be fought for what they are.
President Trump used the term McCarthyism in his Tweet accusing the 0bamanation of wiretapping telephonic conversations at Trump Tower during the campaign.
I don’t mind when it thrown back at them!
