I thought guys were trained to hit the center of the chest, not the head. Bigger target, more stable, hence easier to hit. I guess if you want a 100% certain kill shot the head is a harder but better choice but disabling is often okay.
We called it “the apricot”.

A shot to the throat also tends to stop them, regardless whether they die.
Sigh. J Hines really needs an editor.
“I thought guys were trained to hit the center of the chest, not the head.”
The article explains this.
Body armor for the face is crap.
Body armor for the chest can be pretty good.
When I was in the military I grouped in the throat.
Imho, head shots in a tactical situation is very difficult, even with some practice. For the general public in a stressful situation, a double tap mid mass is preferable.
If the target has a vest, at least you knock him down. Then unload on his ass.

On his ass?
That doesn’t seem to be critical area on the body, but whatever. ;)

LOL
Any artist knows the T but I am aiming for the chest

I saw the double entendre after I posted.

I thought the head shot was preferable because the target might be wearing a vest. However I see you have found a good solution to that problem. It seems to be effective.
Amen
I shoot 300 win mag. Unless they are wearing very hard armor - it’s lights out.
Well, yes. That's where my brain is. Or so I've been told. Repeatedly.
Pretty sure Kyle was a chest shot believer. Good enough for me.
A groin shot will kill you dead, youll bleed out so fast, your head will literally spin
Lots of Militarys teach this tactic
Should survive your love life will be stymied
but it would leave witnesses more often
I always liked the beehive round in my close work. Just aim it in the general direction of the enemy and take out an entire squad.
