AC-130’s are good workhorse planes and function well as gunships but I’d much rather see a couple A-10’s layin down the law, now THAT would be psy-ops to the extreme :-)
Not unless he is landing in a field. I live around 50 miles from Hurlburt.
Amazing
Just like going to work in a factory ... I kept expecting the steam lunch whistle !
...an aircraft that can win wars by itself.... No aircraft has ever won a war by itself.

One of my dearest departed friends was a Navy Corpsman assigned to a Marine force in VN in 1969. They were followed into a valley by a company of VC. They climbed out of the valley at dusk and called in Puff support. He said the string of tracers made it look like a beam of red light coming from that plane. Just as Puff #1 expended its ammo load, Puff #2 and then #3 came in. The next morning they backtracked into the valley and did not find a single thing over 6” high. He said they were asked by superiors for a body count and had no idea - but being Marines I’m sure they came up with one.
Get some!
Warm fuzzies all the way around.
Flying Boxcar! Made my first parachute jump from one at Ft. Benning many moons ago. Great plane.
“A flying artillery battery. In conjunction with A-10 Warthogs,”
And costing less together than one F35
WOW! Thanks.
Ok, then he’s taking off from that field.
I have this suspicion that great things are happening without our knowledge, and that we are going to learn soon that Trump has reduced the membership of Obama’s ISIS to approximately zero.
LBJ made $30 million from the war. No wonder he didn’t want to win it.
After 3 ships finished, large body parts might be hard to count by the Marines.
The Puff passes along the Redcatcher Base camp perimeter resulted in a count of about 500 the next morning. An admirable and great result for the old bird.
My friend told me that they found a few hands, feet, and heads relatively intact but that was about it. I think the stat he mentioned was that a Puff could cover every 6” of a football field with a bullet in one pass so multiply that by 3 and what you get is a major lead and copper deposit.
