Morning Consult poll now has support for Trump’s immigration EO at 55-38

Histrionics having no effect whatsoever

It bears repeating because it’s easy to forget: The loudest among us are not necessarily the most numerous. In fact, they’re usually not, because if they were in the majority they’d be winning, and they wouldn’t be so hysterical.

If that’s true, so is this corollary: The most hysterical have gotten that way precisely because they can’t think of a reasoned method of persuading anyone. They can get lots of attention - hysterics usually can - but just because people are looking at you and talking about you doesn’t mean they have any sympathy for your position. And if this morning’s Morning Consult/Worst Web Site In The World poll is any indication, it appears all the Histrionics over the Trump immigration EO are having the opposite effect. Far from being persuaded, people are tired of witnessing all the insanity, and the result is that the polls are moving in the president’s direction:

If these numbers are accurate, then Trump's EO has a lot of support even among Hillary Clinton voters.

I suspect this is why Trump wants to run this thing all the way through the Federal court system. The Federal judiciary will be completely discredited if the Seattle judge's stay of the EO is allowed to stand.

Favorable support among Ninth District cocktail party circuit members: 0%.

If the polls, several of them now, show support in the mid 50s, it’s likely in the early 60s.

The loudest and the dumbest riot and scream and protest.

The majority go to work, take care of kin and let Trump do his job.

Interesting - Rush coined the term “The Obama Effect”, where people loved Obama, but hated the policies of the faceless bureaucrats that were being pushed on the country (of course, at Obama’s direction). So Obama, high ratings, Obama polices, low ratings.

Now we have the REVERSE Obama Effect - hate the guy (Trump, relatively speaking), but love the policies.

I’ll take #2, thank you.
