This is what really should bother you about the Russian hacking scandal

obama's intelligence heads offered up a report on the Russian hacking scandal. The report, which experts called "underwhelming",  revealed little new information or it did, depending on which side of the aisle you sit. There is no question that this entire story is being ginned up by democrats solely for political purposes.

What did we get out of this report?

The Russians had an axe to grind with hillary clinton for her having meddled in their elections:

Their rocky relationships goes back to her tenure as secretary of state and as senator. At one point she accused his party of rigging an election, and Putin accused her of inciting protests against his government. Even Clinton herself has attributed a grudge toward her as the motivation for the Russian hacks.
Meddle she did:
As Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov looked on, Clinton told the group the United States had "serious concern about the conduct of the elections," and called for a "full investigation" of all reports of fraud and intimidation.

"The Russian people, like people everywhere, deserve the right to have their voices heard and their votes counted," Clinton said. "And that means they deserve free, fair, transparent elections and leaders who are accountable to them."

further:
"When authorities fail to prosecute those who attack people for exercising their rights or exposing abuses, they subvert justice and undermine the people's confidence in their governments," Clinton said. "As the Duma elections in Russia clearly demonstrate, elections that are neither free nor fair have the same effect," Clinton said.
And you know what they say about payback:
“Putin most likely wanted to discredit Secretary Clinton because he has publicly blamed her since 2011 for inciting mass protests against his regime . . . and because he holds a grudge for comments he almost certainly saw as disparaging him,” the report said.

It wasn't about getting Trump elected:

“Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency.”
This didn't stop the NY Times from misrepresenting the report to make Trump look bad:

No, it was aimed at discrediting her.

The Russians were engaged in actions at least as far back as 2015- before Trump was the GOP candidate.

No vote tallies were altered

"They did not change any vote tallies or anything of that sort," Clapper said under questioning from Chairman John McCain (R.-Ariz.)

There's no evidence any propaganda changed anyone's minds

I know no one who knows anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone whose vote was changed because of whatever information is supposed to have come from the Russians.  Moreover:

Clapper further implicitly conceded that whatever the Russians might have done in making Democratic National Committee emails available to the public, the outcome of the U.S. presidential election nonetheless reflected "the choices" of American voters.
Even the hacks at Politifact agree:
Based on the evidence, it seems highly unlikely that actions by the Russian government contributed in any decisive way to Trump’s win over Clinton.
Let us not forget that the emails became available because John Podesta handed over the password to his account. He got hooked in a phishing trip. Additionally, let us note that none of the Podesta emails were forged. They accurately depicted the chicanery and dishonesty of the clinton campaign.

So the Russian efforts were about undermining hillary, but that really isn't  what should be bothering you. What should be bothering you is why obama allowed it to happen and allow it to go on he did.

In 2014 the Russian hacked the White House computers which were down for "weeks." It was met by silence from the administraition:

One question I haven't heard asked by/of all the dimwits pushing this fairytale is: Why?

Why would the Russians prefer Trump over Clinton? The notion that Clinton would be "tougher" on the Russians is absurd. All Putin would need to do is write a check to the Clinton Foundation and Hillary would do whatever he asked.

The simple fact is that the sloppy Hillary Clinton, who has always been disdainful of security personnel and measures, and the pompous Podesta were easily hacked by Russians and others who were perennially targeting Americans and agencies for information. Obama’s counter intelligence efforts were lacking and in the final analysis failed to protect the nations secrets. The Left is projecting its frustrations and failures on the big bad bogeymen Russians. They spy and we spy. Apparently they spy better. History will always show that Obama came off second best to Putin in all encounters and despite his antipathy and interference was not able to stop Netanyahu or prevent his reelection.

What bothers me... is that nothing would have been said about it if Hillary had won the election. I sincerely believe this.

Another point: Democrats are whining about the lack of IT security and how damaging it is (or was) yet they weren't that upset about the security of Hillary's email server. As a matter of fact, they defended Hillarys decision to risk national security so that she could carry on here quid-pro-quo and money laundering operations at the expense and risk of national security.

Thirdly, Democrats are not claiming that the information discovered in Podesta’s and the DNC emails was wrong. They are only complaining about the fact that they “got caught.”

Lastly, apparently Podesta is an idiot. Only an idiot would use “password” as their password.

The other question to ask is, if Russia had exposed Trump to be as corrupt as Clinton, would Putin now be considered a hero and nominated for the Nobel prize by the propaganda organs?

Obama allowed a lot of things that don’t make sense. He and the DNC are responsible for the hacking of the DNC. Obama was terribly slow to respond to ISIS and to Putin’s aggression. The best explanations is that he believed his own false narrative, a narrative designed solely for political purposes.

Putin will turn his propaganda against Trump soon, unless Trump what Putin wants, which I do not expect.

Folks- all this “Trump’s presidency isn’t legitimate’ is payback for the birther attempts against current president- You are going to see years of ‘russian hacking’ and ‘stolen election’ accusations by the left- ESPECIALLY now that the traitors lindsay and Mccain gave the left the green light by jumping on board the accusations themselves and calling for investigations- McCain’s Nose was bent because he didn’t get nominated- and it was further bent when trump stated what he did about being captured-

This election hacking crap is payback- plain and simple- We might as well Hunker down- because it’s going to get loud and nasty for the next 4 to 8 years-

“Lastly, apparently Podesta is an idiot. Only an idiot would use “password” as their password.”

and Hillary is an idiot for putting him in a top post.

You can’t blame the Russians. The real problem is the use of computers by Hillary and the DNC. The press is turning the issue on it’s head.

What really “bothers” me is that I cannot trust this administration nor any of its weaponized agencies....not a single one of em....nada.
Till Trump takes over, cleans the socialists/globalists out, and re-establishes the confidence (if he can) of the American people in the system, will I ever believe anything out of them.

IMO, Obama was *intentionally* weak going after ISIS in order to afford Putin the opportunity to move in and ultimately grab control of the entire Middle East. This despite the smoke and mirrors BS we're hearing from them and the Russians.

Putin basically got what he wanted from the willing saboteur, in regards to all-important missile defense and nukes, including the Obama-Putin Iran deal, then slapped him in the mouth and told him to get lost. He used the traitorous little punk the way the Mafia uses some no-count wanna-be then throws them away.

God himself “hacked” the DNC by causing fools to behave foolishly. Pride and arrogance made the Clintonistas careless, and haughty condescension transformed some of their Democrat allies into resentful enemies who leaked the dirt to Assange. I suspect many of the loudest voices accusing “the Russians” are doing so to mask their own betrayals of the hated Clinton machine.

“Why would the Russians prefer Trump over Clinton? “

They don’t. But to try to keep one up on the US, it would be advantageous for them to find out what Hilary was going to do ahead of time. They had already gained access to her private server and her stupid irresponsible actions concerning the movement and storage of sensitive info, to include high level messages, already. Cracking into the DNC was just the next step into gaining favorable info.

And ponder this, whose to say they didn’t sneak into the RNC system also? They just aren’t talking about that possibility as that has not been mentioned at all. And knowing the use of the hack was for political purposes to try to destroy the election, and not for security, the media certainly wouldn’t mention it because it would be counter productive to their efforts. Media scam alert.

“...WikiLeaks emails provide proof that the “Clintons have a long and lucrative history of financial deals with the Russians, particularly with the Russian government.”

Who’s in Putin’s Pocket — Clinton or Trump? (Clinton Uranium RussiaGate scandal)

"according to some calculations, the Uranium One deal, involving top Clinton donors Frank Guistra and Ian Telfer, has transferred as much as 50 percent of projected American uranium production to Kremlin control."

Who paid Bill Clinton's $2.5 million commission & $500,000 speaking fee (US uranium to Russia)

qura.com ^ | July 27, 2016 | Sierra Spaulding

Who paid Bill Clinton's $2.5 million commission and $500k speaking fee for brokering the sale of 20% of America's uranium deposits to Russia?

You are speaking about a really interesting deal that ended up giving Vladimir Putin and the Russians control of one-fifth of all uranium production capacity in the United States.

Since uranium is considered a strategic asset, with implications for national security, the deal had to be approved by a committee composed of representatives from a number of United States government agencies. ..."

Yours are the four key points of this issue as far as I’m concerned, and well said.

Nobody would given the slightest crap nor would have any investigation gotten partway to first base had HRC won.

And yes, as horrible and rotten and conniving as the hacking may have been, the fact the HRC left the door wide open with her private server; making the hacking 100, maybe 1000 times times easier AND that she did so strictly for personal enrichment is nothing more than a giant yawn.
