Just remember . . .
DEMOCRAT PARTY IDEOLOGY:
All the problems in the world are caused by White, Heterosexual, Male Americans (and their female collaborators, aka wives).

Evidently the AP hasn’t noticed...It’s already started...
Or maybe they just don’t want to admit it...

Trump triumphed in part by vowing to restore jobs at steel mills, auto plants and coal mines the types of work that had once employed legions of men who lacked a college education....
I agree that getting them to take jobs like that after eight years on the Obama couch is going to be a challenge.

The proportion of men in their prime working years who either have a job or are looking for one has been dropping for decades and limiting economic growth in the process................................................if this had been a obama story, we would never see that info in the article.

There are still people with good scientific degrees looking for work and not finding it.

Around here it’s not as much welfare as “disability”game for guys.

How do you get people to work? Easy. Cut off ALL forms of benefits. EVERYTHING. Yes, many thousands of people need government assistance, but the churches have and can take care of them. Funnel government food, water purification, and basic medical supplies to church disaster teams under
Volunteers Organizations Assisting Disasters VOAD orgs help in a disaster, and when able body people DONT or WONT work, that is a national disaster IMHO.
Trust me. When they get hungry, they'll work.
MAKE THEM!

Sounds good but doesnt always apply. Certainly there are leaches but there are also good guys who just cant put 2 & 2 together. They want to work or are under-employed. The govt is all too good at applying one set of rules the most unthinking way. One size just doesnt fit all.

Don't get me started. Have a neighbor who is a union tradesman. Capable of earning a good living. Early in Obama's first term he suddenly became "disabled" and started spending every day at home drinking beer and watching porn. I see him hanging Christmas lights on his house and working on his car, so can't for the life of me see how he's "disabled".

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!
Hunger is a great motivator.
Cut the government teat and people will work for their money.

I can’t tell you how many people have suggested I apply for disability. Thing is, I can work, just not on somebody else’s schedule. Sometimes I feel great and other times I am unable to do much for two days in a row. Pain comes and goes.
I applied for a cash discount on a medical bill and had to fill out a long form. Because I was not on disability and had not applied for welfare, I was denied. I have talked to people who brag about their disability payments and there is nothing at all wrong with them. It annoys me no end.

The trash talking of the America worker on Free Republic is a big turn off to lurkers and people trying to figure out what is going on. There are 90 million people not working they are all not dead beats. Get over yourselves. You sound like a bunch of old curmudgeon idiots.

In my opinion, given the limited information posted, you need to rethink your choice on not applying for disability. It is an insurance policy, not welfare, and will not be awarded unless you are truly disabled. Total disability is not required only partial and in your case you will probably have lower earning potential in the future. Applying now will lock in your benefit rate before it is diminished over time by lower paying employment that you are likely to receive. You can still work while receiving your insurance benefit, it’s not cheating the system if you play by the rules.
YMMV
