California Decriminalises Child Prostitution
Common Sense Evaluation ^

Posted on 01/04/2017 6:12:05 AM PST by gaggs

An unbelievable though ostensibly well-meaning law in California took effect at midnight January 1st. Unfortunately, the bill could have some very unpleasant consequences for the very group it seeks to protect. SB-1322, authored by State Senator Holly Mitchell (D-Los Angeles) and passed by the California legislature’s Democratic “super majority” in September, essentially legalizes the prostitution of minors.

At least now the state can license and tax it - right?

“Be not deceived, God is not mocked.” These instances of “in your face evil” will lead to the destruction of CA.

Yes, the police were going after minors who had been forced into prostitution, and sending them to jail as sex offenders. The prosecutors found these cases easy, since nobody cared about these kids, and then they could boast about how many sex offenders they had sent to jail.

Fake News.

It is still illegal to have sex with a prostitute, no matter their age.
It’s somewhat like the marijuana laws, which protect one party but not the other. Liberals wants to protect prostitutes while penalizing their customers.

Posted several times before.

The headline is somewhat misleading.

If I remember right th idea is to not put under-aged sex slaves in jail but just the Johns and pimps.

They are NOT making child prostitution legal

Leftists aren’t really sane, else how could they ever think this is a good idea. With them, their intentions are what counts. Not the evil that results from those intentions. “The road to hell is paved with good intentions...”

This is the pat answer from the leftist defenders of this law. But it doesn't hold water.

Can we, then, abolish arrest and penalties for any crime committed by a minor, ostensibly because they were unduly influenced by some adult? Burglary? Theft? Drug dealing?

Where does it stop?

And this completely ignores the fact that many minors DO go "into business" for themselves whoring themselves out.

They know what they’re doing. The goal is to destroy all the traditional rules of right and wrong and establish their own marxist rules.

I think this is an atrocity. I also think all people who think this is a good idea ought to experience involuntary sex with a large, much larger human, not only once in the hour but many times in many hours, day after day.
What a carnage this will be.

California should be expunged from our states in disgrace, dishonor and all borders shut. No one to leave and no one to go in. And let them figure it out.

By the way, now that the pimps and johns reap no punishment there is no way to prevent them from grabbing any young girl and taking her to CA to be lost forever.

I bet the serial killers are jubilant.

If anyone actually bothered to read the statute, the children are basically put into the system for orphans and runaways, instead of putting them in jail with adults for a few weeks and then tossing them back out in the street.

It isn’t like the Johns are arrested and the kids are left hooking.

And part of the intent here is to physically move the child away from the area where they were apprehended and rehabilitate them far away, where any pimps and the criminal organizations they are part of will have a harder time getting at them. This continuing (and previously unaddressed) threat is a major hindrance to getting the child to testify in court.

These instances of “in your face evil” will lead to the destruction of CA.

If only the destruction could be limited to L.A., San Francisco and Sacramento...

Sounds like it is time to start using the second amendment for its intended purpose in CA...

Yes, I know that is what they “say”. I await the results.

Pretty soon CA will legislate the marriage to a 9-12 yo is O.K, too. (sarc)

As it is and what they do not say, is that CA health and human services is seriously underfunded and this will not work. I am sorrowful as children are so incredibly vulnerable.

It won’t work worse than locking kids who are basically sex slaves up for a few weeks, trying to scare them into testifying against some of the animals prostituting them, and afterwards dumping them back out on the streets in the same town at the mercy of the rest of the criminal enterprise running the prostitution.

And absolutely that is what has been the case for decades.
