She is making assumptions she got inferior care because she’s black. How does she know it wasn’t because of her obesity? Maybe she saw a black, obese doctor.
So the white doctors were obesist, not racist. But thinking that is not as much fun I guess.

It is not unwise to have a doctor who is similar to yourself, especially one who is just a few years older. They have in recent memory personally tackled or investigated most of the issues that you are likely to start facing.

The man that cut open my eyes and put lenses in them due to cataracts was Chinese. My gastroenterologist is a white female married to a Vietnamese my former one was Indonesian of Chinese ancestry. My physician is a white dude that wears cowboy boots. My wife is Mexican. I use the doctors I do because they are damn good at their job. My wife, I love.

I am a white dude that is sick of all this political correctness crap.

I wonder to what degree the poor care they are complaining of is due to the poor quality doctors who take Medicaid patients. The disproportionate number of white doctors in that category vs disproportionate black patients makes it seem racially motivated ... but they’ve never been able to pay for a quality doctor, black or white, in the US, hence the “great care by black doctors in home nation where I can afford it”.
The problem is the poor quality of providers in socialized medicine, not evil white doctors abusing poor black patients.

Last month one Asian Indian woman was complaining about Doctors/nurses in USA. Medical care are worse than India. Here during delivery stay her nurse was not walking next to her holding vomiting bucket etc. Basically, she want nurse to pamper her. I told her, pregnancy is not a disease and Hospital is not a full service resort.
People expect too much from Doctors, Nurse and hospital.

Yeah.

Keith Richburg wrote a book about it about 20 years ago called Out of America.

He’d been foreign correspondent for the Washington Post.

Somewhere, sometime, maybe 400 years ago, an ancestor of mine whose name I’ll never know was shackled in leg irons, kept in a dark pit, possibly at Goree Island off the coast of Senegal, and then put with thousands of other Africans into the crowded, filthy cargo hold of a ship for the long and treacherous journey across the Atlantic. Many of them died along the way, of disease, of hunger. But my ancestor survived, maybe because he was strong, maybe stubborn enough to want to live, or maybe just lucky. He was ripped away from his country and his family, forced into slavery somewhere in the Caribbean. Then one of his descendants somehow made it up to South Carolina, and one of those descendants, my father, made it to Detroit during the Second World War, and there I was born, 36 years ago. And if that original ancestor hadn’t been forced to make that horrific voyage, I would not have been standing there that day on the Rusumo Falls bridge, a journalist — a mere spectator — watching the bodies glide past me like river logs. No, I might have instead been one of them — or have met some similarly anonymous fate in any one of the countless ongoing civil wars or tribal clashes on this brutal continent. And so I thank God my ancestor made that voyage.

But they don’t dare discuss differing average IQs between the races or greater rates of birth defects among Muslims due to generations of cousin marriage.

I have neuropathy and am not nor have I ever been diabetic.

DI found that different things can cause it. Alcohol use, medications, over-the-counter drugs, etc.

Exactly.

Plus everyone has doctor issues anyways. Doctors just have these arbitrary numbers and if you dont fall in the good ranges they freak you out. The days of admitting people have different norms and realizing preventative medicine is not,one size fits all screws a lot of healthy people into believing they arent. No matter what gender or color they are.

It is,drummed into them very hard to look at you as a liability and statistic. And when you arent compliant and totally trusting of them they do not like it.

No primary doctor for 30 years now. Doctor myself for preventative medicine issues. In emergencies and accidents i have no problem with docs working to help me.

Yep, they have narrowed the problem down to a medication he was on about four years ago. Sadly that means that there is no true cure, only treatment.

At least he is no longer having to avoid having honey in his tea.

One thing I have found out about doctors as I have gotten older is there are some that listen to your symptoms and try to find a cause. There are others who try to make your symptoms fit into their "disease of the week" and nothing you can say will stop them.

Best to walk away and find another doctor.

Given the quotas and affirmative action that goes on in schools and hospital hires, you should be concerned about skin color.

"I want a black doctor."

Go to Rubana Nao, a village nearby where Obama was born in Kenya. Onadiba Bunagwa is the village witch doctor. I'm sure he'll glady, even enthusiastically rattle his dried gourd seeds over you with some really shrewd incantations and serious gyrations and hopping about...

...for a fee, of course.

LMAO!!!

It just makes one angry to recall all the work and suffering that the blacks went through to stop segregation only to turn around and re-segregate. It’s nuts.

It depends. When I retired and moved in my early 60s, I deliberately looked for a doctor who was in his mid 40s. I want someone who is going to outlive me.

And someone who remembers me as an active, vigorous youngish retired guy. Not an old geezer on his deathbed.

You are not the lone ranger. Every physician I ask more than two superficial questions tells me not to heal nervous. It doesn’t occur to them you might be intelligent. Men of course who feel their ego is being assaulted. Try a woman.

Painfully ridiculous, trying to blame all problems/issues on racism.

Many white patients have issues with their white doctors too.
