Correct. No letter “p” in arabic. “Paris” is correctly pronounced “Baris”—but with a soft “b”.

I recently read a book, The Miracle of the Kurds by Steven Mansfield. a good read, from 2014. Made more relevant with the Kurdish men and women fighting against Barry,Lindsey, and Mac’s buddies, in the recent battles that also has a Nato member trying to bomb the Kurds while claiming to be fighting iSiS

They have been attacked by every country that claimed them. Iraq gassed them in a attempt to eradicate them, Turkey blames and jails them whenever terrorists attack. The Kurds must that Trump will give them the open support no American leader has done. The Al-Anfal campaign by Saddam against the Kurds was a instance of Saddam using the Koran to destroy a people he could not control with fear.

what is the persistent linking of Eminem videos have to do with either article I’ve seen them on. I note that there are very few views of these M & Nim videos so it may be a way to boost the numbers of a pitiful video

I’m not into HipHop or Rap music. Strange connection.

I looked at Eminem’s wiki, appears his family had history of mental problems.

I live in flyover country and like it. Don’t particularly like cities, certainly not large cities.

But thanks for the warning.

I believe the percentage of Muslims among Kurds depends on which country and tribe you examine. I get the impression quit a number claim to be Muslim, but refuse to give up older religious and cultural beliefs.

It that part of the world, non-muslim has a price. financially and even being able to survive.

Yes, they must be tough women.

And they appear very independent.

If you have not read this article you might appreciate it. It’s about 1 year old. I don’t think the pic is the woman in question. Was told she disappeared after killing the ISIS commander who made slave of her. Probably smart to do so.

One ODD note: the only TWO languages that have a "TH" sound are Arabic and English.

Odd since we borrowed the 'thorn' (ᚦ) character from the Norse, who used it for the 'TH' sound.

Post independence India was more socialist and wanted to be nonaligned but was more affiliated with the Soviets to counter Pakistan, which wanted to be more capitalist esp dominant W Pakistan (Indian Bengal / E Pakistan - Bangladesh was always far more Pro-Commie) ... at times Pakistan was a very staunch US ally (if only nominally today due to their support or tolerance of radical Islamism)

Lots of factors in play, the Indo-Pakistan wars, nuclear proliferation, USSR in Afghanistan (opposition to which strengthened Islamism), Pakistan ties to China...they flirt with reconciliation then recoil

Their life, as such, continues.
Some Americans just haven't a clue as to how fortunate and blessed we are to live here.

Yep, what does Google know anyway.
Here we all thought that the Scandinavian languages came from the German. That's what the Scandinavians say...but what do they know.
