Welcome to 2017, and congratulations on making it through the Obama years! In a few weeks, the adults will be back in charge and - hopefully - we’ll begin the long hard work of undoing the last eight years. Unfortunately, if you’re in the media, you should know that your industry may have crossed the credibility Rubicon.
2016 was a complete disaster for American “journalists.” In defiance of all logic, in denial of reality, they went deep in the tank for Hillary Clinton. ...And they lost, badly.
Yep, the media are big losers for 2016.
I still remember election night, and from their tone and demeanor, you would swear they were at a funeral or memorial for a loved one. The dour faces, depressing tones of voice as they reported state after state going for Trump, depressing(for them) speculation, about what the election of Trump would mean, what he would do as president, etc. clearly was deeply affecting these allegedly dispassionate “journalists”.

The roots of 2016 stretch all the way back to a few journalists, afraid of a repeat of what happened to Gary Hart when he “changed his mind about offshore drilling.” decided to carry Bill Clinton’s water for him and protect him from the consequences of his infidelities.
In doing so they materially influenced the election and thus taught other journalists that being actively partisan, as opposed to being merely biased, could elect Democrats and defeat Republicans.
After that, each on their own but yet in waves, the MSM became the second estate of the DNC.
The other Clinton bookmarked this whole process neatly.
Now the MSM are widely known for what they really are, and only their fellow lefty true believers can’t bring themselves to care.
The reason is that they too have been conditioned to not care. So-called “progressives” have a remarkable ability to simply dismiss wrong doing by the left. Whatever they have ever managed to get over in the past is seen as old news and folks are just partisan to bring it up again. And whatever is happening now that is only somewhat worse than what they’ve been able to get over in the past they will not be upset by.
The above process is cumulative, for people, unlike real frogs, will stay in those proverbial frying pans till they are boiled alive.
In fact, unless something is so horrifically terrible that it disabuse them all at once (something that get ever more difficult as time goes by, and may be factually impossible for many leftists even now) “progressives” will never jump out of the pan.
I would argue (and have argued) that Obama and Clinton have been well aware of this process and have even been managing scandal with scandals ... a steady diet of scandals to keep progressively desensitizing their supporters.
But there’s good news for anyone worried about Trump and those eeeeevil Christians or conservatives: the same MSM that is blind to whatever lay within the circle of wagons that they man will be watching those outside the defensive circle like hawks!
If Trump so much as breaks wind it will be known about, never mind if he should be corrupt as the left assures us he is.
So if the LMSM can just resist the urge to make up stories and news, a monumentally huge “if” that borders on the improbable, they may be yet able to recover shreds of their reputation.
Nah ... they won’t resist and that ain’t happening....

They left behind objective journalism years ago, but this year they dropped all pretense and were exposed via Wikileaks to have been colluding directly with the Democrats.
Not really. A blogger that was cited here a few weeks ago observed that as a media entity dies, it goes hard left to cement "their" credentials as liberals.
As such, they will be hirable by the remaining "chic" media.

The press is been pushing leftist causes since the 1920s since Stalin financed the infiltration of American institutions and the media in particular. In the past they were smart enough to hide their bias but with Obama they thought that they had a permanent lock on power so they let the mask slip. They are exposed what they really are too early.
If Putin really wants to stick in the eye of the leftists in the Democrat Party he should release all the files they they have their agents within the Democratic Party and in the US government and how they manipulated them to push international communism, liberation theology, and the black Marxist movement.
When dealing with anyone on the left, it must be remembered that leftists have no ability to sort fact from fiction. Dialectic (facts) based arguments are absolutely useless.
They are only capable of responding to rhetoric (feels).
So, the fact that the media on the left is generating pabulum is not going to register on the left. The crap that we can easily see is bull***t based non-reason does exactly what it is designed to do and that is touch leftists in their feels.
Journalists disgraced themselves election night - much more obvious in their hatred of traditional Americans than usual...
No one trusts the MSM except lower class blacks and illegals (who don't read newspapers or watch 'news shows' anyhow) and the small number of white 'elites' who are "in" on the scam.
I'm amazed advertisers haven't caught on to how they're being played...
The power, the exhilaration, the arrogance that arose from that feat inspired the next generations of "journalists," who set out to duplicate the "heroics" of Woodward and Bernstein. All that remained was to point them at conservative targets and pull the trigger.
That's how we got where we are today: a bunch of copycat crusaders determined to make their careers out of one-upping each other on their liberal extremism.
The media will double-down on stupid.... and will continue to disgrace itself into irrelevance..
May have? I didn't think anyone was still questioning this. It's a given now. Like a scientific experiment, it has been proven beyond question.
