Two-state, not three state, solution occurred in 1948

Jordan and Israel were carved out of Transjordan in 1948. Palestine never existed as a state nor was it a part of the Middle East script.

Soon to be sidelined Secretary of State John Kerry wasted an hour and a half reinventing history December 28 after the Obama administration’s ambassador to the United Nations disgraced America by abstaining at the security council’s vote on Friday. His moronic remarks aren’t even worth referencing as he attempted to bolster an irredeemable action that endangered Israel’s very existence by pressuring the small state to return to indefensible borders.

Excellent post and article!

The underlying problem is that a two-state solution creating a national entity based on Jewry’s ancestral homeland of Israel was one of the initial actions taken by the United Nations after its charter in 1945. The history of the Jewish land purchases from the declining Ottoman Empire, the endowment of the British Mandate and the artificial borders of Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Transjordan drawn in 1920,

So both the Arabs as well as the Jews were a creation of the UN and the British. However this issue assumes that the land was the arabs. With the payment for the land, I guess the “Palestines”. Have buyers remorse after being paid.

Let us not forget it was the Arabs that told their people to leave Israel in 1948 in mass exodus

Thank you. This is what I’ve been trying to say. We already have a two-state solution, its called Jordan and Israel. They are trying to shoe-horn a third and fourth state into that tiny territory.

To recap: at the end of WW2, the territory known as Palestine was populated by arabs and jews (and others). It was divided between them, a sliver going to the jewish Palestinians and the remainder going to the arab Palestinians. The jewish sliver was renamed “Israel” and the arab remainder was renamed “Jordan”. That’s it. That’s the two state solution.

What we call the West Bank is land captured by Israel after it was attacked by half a dozen arab countries who tried to drive it into the sea. It is up to Israel to decide if it wants to keep it or not. The only other country with any standing in the discussion is Jordan.

The West Bank will never be independent. It has no economy, no production, no markets, no window to the world independent of Israel and Jordan. It is not, can’t be, and will never be independent. Focus on something that will never be just wastes time, treasure, and costs the lives of deluded arabs and innocent Israelis.

From 1517 to 1917 the Ottoman Empire controlled the areas now covered by most Arab countries (Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and others).

It was just prior to 1492 that the Muslims conquered Constantinople (Eastern Roman Empire).

The Arabs with Great Britain’s approval took 78% of the area set aside for a Jewish Homeland in 1923. It was named Trans-Jordan (meaning across the Jordan River) and had a Saudi Prince imposed as its ruler.
All Jewish settlers who had settled east of the Jordan were forced back west of the Jordan River with the explanation that the area east was Arab.

Between 1923 and 1948 the British reneged on their custody requirements and failed to name the remaining 22% the Jewish Homeland, despite the area being historically Jewish.

In 1948 Great Britain withdrew, Israel was establish, and the Arab League attacked. This was blatantly an attempt to wipe out all Jews and establish Muslim rule “from the rive to the sea”.

Once there was a ceasefire, Tran-Jordan occupied the area now referred to as the West Bank. Trans-Jordan proclaimed this area to be part of Trans-Jordan, and renamed itself Jordan, since it now straddled the Jordan River. It also gave Jordanian citizenship to all residents of this area.

Jordan then proceeded to wipe out anything in Jerusalem and the West Bank that was Jewish. They destroyed synagogues that had existed for centuries, confiscated all Jewish property, and took Jewish tombstone from the Mount of Olives to install as flooring in their military urinals. They also put a gold topping on the Dome of the Rock in 1959. This was a concerted effort to establish Jerusalem as part of Jordan.

The international community refused to recognise Jordan annexation of the area and it was considered occupied. Jordan eventually renounced its ownership of the area, but only after Jordan attacked Israel in 1967 and lost the area to Israel following the 6-Day War.

So, who is the occupier, Israel who regained what was promised them by the League of Nations and International Law, or Jordan, when it occupied the area between 1948 and 1967?

As the article states there are already two states, Jordan and Israel that have been created out of the Palestinian Mandate.

most correct - the only recognized borders remain those in UN resolution 181.

An interesting history video concerning the British planned size of the Jewish state in the early 1920s with iterations, which was much larger than current. The fall of the Ottoman Empire helped open the door for the 1948 Jewish state. By an American living overseas who is also a Messianic Jew.

Pictures of maps start about 5:45.
