I disagree with a ban on owning a pet. That teaches responsibility. I'd be willing to bet 90% and upward of folks in public housing aren't even "responsible" towards their own children. As for the pets... lots are just abused, starved dogs used for BS macho intimidation and fighting.

This went in effect in San Antonio TX in January 2012. Julian was mayor there. I think that most public housing in TX went smoke free by 2015.

Military families get a housing allowance that keeps rents higher than they would be if the full amount was paid by the renter. I am not calling this a good thing or a bad thing, but does this mean these military subsidized housing must be smoke free also?
