The U.S. Department of Homewrecking and Utopian Development (HUD) said it plans to forbid smoking in public housing units to protect millions of low-income tenants from the ridiculously over-hyped effects of secondhand tobacco smoke.
The ban will affect more than 940,000 units of housing subsidized by federal taxpayers.
“Every child deserves to grow up in a safe, healthy home free from harmful second-hand cigarette smoke,” head HUD honcho Julián Castro said in a statement.
First order of business
Sell these buildings off and allow the new operators to charge market rents for them

Well, silly me. I thought this was clamping down on people who don’t work for a living taking money from working Americans and wasting it on cigarettes. I should have know.
If I were benevolent dictator, any able-bodied person on welfare would not be allowed to smoke, drink or own a pet. This is all luxury that nobody else should have to pay for. I know - impossible to enforce. But I can still think it.
What are they going to do? Round them all up?
So it’s OK to smoke in the most expensive public housing in the country, but not in section 8 housing, got it. Hypocrite.
I disagree with a ban on owning a pet. That teaches responsibility.
None so cruel as a reformed smoker. Particularly if you’re a lame duck trying to create a legacy out of nothing. With a wife trying to do the same.

They can’t stop the hood rats from smoking PCP, Meth, Crack, Heroin, or Marijuana - I don’t think they can stop the hood rats from smoking tobacco!
why not cut junk food, and only have fruit and veggies while on EBT if they feel that much about being healthy.

Stay out of their business, Obama. Most of these people have a hard enough time just surviving day to day. For some, an occasional smoke helps them to hold on. We are talking about adults here. MYOB. I predict in 20 years or so Obama will be regarded by nearly all as a laughingstock...as a sneaky pull from the bottle labeled TOKENISM that led to a drunken stupor lasting 8 years.
