No. It would help, but it isn't a solution. We are going to have to slay this monster the hard way, and using the "market forces" isn't going to be enough. There are very wealthy elites in control of the media, and they can afford to subsidize it forever, because the media makes them money in ways other than advertising.
I have only recently figured out what I think is happening. The media is liberal precisely because it serves the interests of those who enrich themselves off of the Government money spigot. The people who are getting rich off of Government spending own the media, and they keep the media advancing Liberal policy because Liberal policy keeps the government money spigot flowing.
If this is true, it won't matter how much ad revenue various networks lose, their owners will keep them going anyway, because they need the media to keep helping to elect Democrats, because that is how that Federal money fountain is kept going.
The media is liberal because it is infested with liberals out to change America.
That is what I thought too, but that it is infested with liberals is no accident. It is infested with liberals because the owners infest it with liberals deliberately.
Liberal policies make the owners money. Conservative policies cut into the owner's revenue stream.
The forces that want Washington to Spend! Spend! Spend! are the people who own the media.
1) Use the Anti-Trust laws to break them up. Something like 90% of all media is owned by just 6 Billionaires. Just look what Disney owns (ESPN, ABC, Marvel, Star Wars, etc).
2) Change cable to “A la carte”. Right now, it doesn’t matter if you watch CNN, ESPN or MSNBC, they still get paid by everyone who subscribes to cable or dish. No automatic check and CNN would have to moderate or lose subscriptions and go under.
Both of these would increase competition, and many of these lying networks will be forced to change or they will go out of business.
What I learned from this is that the press not the secret service are there for the presidents protection. Just ask them.

No matter HOW much or HOW many gains (and they have been positively GARGANTUAN) American minorities have gained in recent decades and STILL demand and get, it is absolutely ESSENTIAL for the Liberal MSM to perpetually RE educate them about how underserved, oppressed, disadvantaged, cheated, exploited they ARE... otherwise, HOW ON EARTH COULD LIBERALS GET ELECTED?
Follow the money. It is always about the money. The Kabuki dance of pretending to care about people is just a political tactic to achieve the goal of getting into a position to spend the money.
