Something in the air

There is something in the air.

Yuma, Arizona is the butt of many jokes but it is a military town with two bases, The USMC Air Station and the US Army's Yuma Proving Ground just to the north.

Today they had their annual Veteran's Day parade. It was way different than the past several years and you could feel the difference.

There always have been flags but this year, there were many more and not just in the parade but in the spectator areas too. People and groups were not afraid to show their love and support of our flag. Many of them were not angry white people either.

There was a lot more respect for the flags as they passed too. It has been rare to see people stand as the colors pass much less render proper honors. Today though, people stood, hats were off and many had hats and hands on their heart rendering the traditional and proper salute.

The local school bands played patriotic music and the applause was noted.

Next time you see the TV stories about the usual losers protesting in the usual places remember, in Yuma Arizona and in thousands of other heartland cities and towns, the people of all colors and ethnicities stood proud today and are looking forward to American reaching the pinnacle of world greatness again.

My beautiful American flag that was only flown on Vets day and the 4th of July for 8 years is up every morning after I get up.

A couple of neighbors have noticed and are back flying their American flags.

It’s about time we take a stand! I just got off the phone with our local news station for promoting the protest in my city tonight! They had to take the extra mile of saying where and what time the protesters were going to meet.. that just about send me to the moon!!!! I gave him a piece of my mind and I told him that if it turns into a riot and many businesses are destroyed that they better be ready for a lawsuit! I don’t know if the reporter was laughing or took it seriously but I just had to fight back! No more sitting on my butt ...and doing nothing...NOT ANYMORE!!!! There is power in numbers on our side too!!!!

I’m just waiting for noon January 20 to unfurl my flag for the first time since Usurpation Day.
We will finally have a legitimate President again.
Thank You God

I stayed in Yuma after I retired from the Marine Corps. Yuma supports their bases and the Marines and soldiers stationed there. I love this town and I have no plans to ever leave.

We arrived here when my Convair job went away in San Diego. No regrets. Yuma is the best kept secret on the planet provided your air conditioner works.

Happy birthday to the Corps yesterday.
